Just took the first dose of a zpack. Never had them before; don't know what to expect.

Stomach upsets and nausea were the two most common side effects. Already, my stomach has been topsy turvy from an excess of postnasal drip.

and then i had to listen to my bf (LOVEEEE YOU) bitch at me for "ruining" the trip after i made him pull over into a gas station so i could vom and diarrhea

i mean, i was NOT joking. my mom had to come get my from my apt when we got back into town because i was so weak/sick. and then i just stayed on my parents couch for like a week feeling like death. i had an upper respiratory infection and something else (i can't remember) though.

1) my doc is FANTASTIC, and I've been seeing him since I was like 9 - he knows ALL my medical history and allergies. Well worth the 35 minute drive.
2) I'm not prone to spewing from either end, so let's hope for the best. Especially since I'm not allergic to abx.

I'm taking it for the third time in 2 years. I was given zpack/steroids/prescription cold medicine/albuterol(inhaler)

What do you have?

The pharmascist told me that since I just have a cold or whatever viral thing is going around the zpack probably wont help much.

Yea I typically get a sinus infection or two a year, one in the spring and one in the winter. So thats why she gave it to me. My sinuses were not horrible but my left ear was real red and buldging and I still had a little sinus pressure. Mostly a horrible sounding cough now, real deep nasty sounding cough.

She also suggested I go see a specialist for allergies like my mom does, (she is also my moms doc) but the idea of getting shots weekly, year round sounds horrible.

Oh...that makes sense.

There are ways to manage allergies without shots, depending on the allergy.

And, IIRC (I'm not someone with many allergies at all ) there are injection options that can last 2-3 months.

I never had allergies as bad as I do now until I moved to NC from the midwest.
And it seems the older I get the worse they get. Each sinus infection/cold I get, seems to get worse, and the cough worse. My oxygen levels are always low and they keep testing me for asthma and giving me breathing treatments.

Maybe you'll be alright not eating and taking the zpack, everyones different, but I took it yesterday with just a couple crackers and felt like shit. Took it today after breakfast and was fine!
