when exactly is tiger woods supposed to be in stores? I have seen 3 different release dates (13, 14, and 15th) Really excited for this game and want to grab it on release day.

The US release date is the 13th... which is really the ship date...

so it should be in store on the 14th

i think canada has different dates which might be where the discrepency comes in

Picked up Tiger Woods. Lots of fun, but def. different than wii sports golf! I think the controls are going to take a lot to get used to.

i think the problem most people are havin is the swing mechanics...you dont really control it like in wii sports, so it makes it a bit awkward. hopefully they fix that in future versions.

I know exactly what they are talking about! It's the lack of 1 to 1 control. If you have played a lot of wii sports golf (which I have) then you are used to that precision. Tiger doesn't really have that. It's harder to get an accurate feel for what you are going to do to the ball. Like in Wii sports I know exactly how hard I am going to hit the ball. In Tiger, it seems a little more arbitrary. The game is still fun, and I think if you were to play it exclusively (as in no wii golf) then the controls will get to be more fluid.

The answer to a perfect Wii golf game to me would be the swing mechanics of wii sports with the course selection and customizability of tiger woods. And to be honest I sort of prefer the look of wii sports golf to Tiger. Suffice to say if they did a Hot Shots or something for the Wii I would be happy.

Yeah, the swing feels like you're following/guiding the golfer onscreen, instead of him following your movements, if that makes any sense.

You have to try to stay with the rhythm of the character once you start the swing motion.

I hated the swing initially, but it grew on me pretty quickly. I'd prefer a more advanced wii golf-type of control, but maybe next year.. For now.. it's still pretty fun once you get used to it.

and the only negatives i heard about it were that the controls were too hard for the reviewer and he kept hitting bad shots

sometimes you can't tell if you are going to hit a bad shot. I am getting the hang of longer shots (drives, long irons), but still trying to get the hang of short iron shots. Putting can be a little iffy, but I feel like I am getting the hang of it. Played about 40-some holes yesterday and I think it is growing on me.

I have to say though, there are parts of the game that seem..... rushed. I have noticed areas where the textures don't seem to line up properly (ex. the grass is about a millimeter off the ground and looks weird during up close shots). Customizing your character can be an exercise in annoyance too. Found it to be sort of slow to move between screens and for things to load up. Also, there were times when some of the changes we made didn't show up and we had to reload the image.

Maybe nintendo can just release a version of wii golf with multiple club sets and 20 courses.

Picked up a copy of Wii Play at the Cary Best Buy today. Not terrible if you consider it a $10 game. Worth it for the controler for me and the wife to play Wii Sports. Hit pro last night in boxing and should have it in bowling shortly with tennis on the radar.
