Only if you count dunks more than 2 points. Look at their stats. Painter produced just about as much as Leslie without being a cancer.

Leslie was ACC Top 10 in points, points per game, field goals, field goal percentage, free throws made, offensive rebounds, defensive rebounds, blocks, player efficiency rating, effective field goal percentage, among others.

Painter was ACC Top 10 in personal fouls.

Yeah ok troll.

"top 10" is not even a stat. I would take 2 less points per game to have someone actually put effort into defense.

Say what you want about Leslie's performances and even some of his comments about those performances, but from everything I've heard from those associated with the program last year's chemistry issues started with Purvis. Then with him and Brown being close, that led to Purvis and Brown splitting from everyone else a little bit.

I'm not saying CJL was perfect in that regard, but the problems chemistry-wise went far past anything related to CJL.

Earl is right, we'd be much better off with Painter taking 17 foot jumpers all game

Probably would've gotten us to the Final Four last season

I hated Painter's defense 2 years ago. Dude was always on the ground, it seemed like.

But Painter would've been a defensive upgrade over Leslie last year. Leslie was simply atrocious, from forgetting to box people out to failing to rotate in zone and especially going for the highlight block instead of playing fundamentally sound D. We lost 2 games off tip-ins where we could've won if he had just stayed with his guy.

Yes but Leslie didn't use an elderly family member for a bullshit excuse to get more playing time.

(Miami tip in)

not CJL's fault there. the maryland game, sure, CJL went for the block and missed leaving Len wide open for the tip in. not that there's really any use in arguing over whose fault it was at this point...

C.J. Leslie: 15 points (6-of-15 shooting), 5 rebounds, 1 steal

Leslie continued to make plays, leading the shorthanded Knicks Summer League squad with 15 points. Behind a blistering first step deserving of a patented "feline quickness" from Walt Clyde Frazier, Leslie elicited "oohs" and "ahhs" from the Cox Pavillion crowd, especially during a spectacular first half (13 points on 6-of-12 shooting, four rebounds) that featured a couple of thunderous throwdowns. Even on the shots that don't fall, Leslie looks the part.

solid, I watched his first game and he looked pretty timid out there. He looked way more comfortable on the floor in those highlights

Since when is Leslie getting the first step off the dribble like that on people? Very impressive face up move.

Watching that really makes me bitter about his lack of consistent effort. He's incredibly gifted.

Jeez, you can tell how much more his game translates to the NBA over college. Why didn't he take it to the hoop with that authority last year?!

When I kicked a flow it was like pick-and-roll
Cause even if he gave me the rock, it's give-and-go
I guess Beanie's style was more of a slam dunk
But my shit was more like a finger roll
But I had them singles though
And them hoes at the show gonna mingle, yo, heh, y'all know
