the thing is

my dad doesn't know i got another cat

and it doesn't really matter cause its my life BUT when i go home tomorrow instead of 1 cat i'm going to have 2

uh oh. i mean the only time it matters is when i go home cause i guess since it is his house he can be mad at me for having 2 pets. but she is small so maybe she will just run around and he won't notice her for a few days?!

the whole flu thing kinda works out cause i can just play that up and hopefully not get yelled at

yea i'm going to get a lecture. but i don't get why. its my money. i'm cut off from my parents so it ain't their money! my dad just doesn't like cats and is like super frugal so spending money on like anything is a no no. but i don't really get the deal its not like i'm bringing home the devil. or like i'm pregnant or anything.

but i'll get a lecture. i'm sorry, dad my other cat needed a friend!

besides i have the flu and i too will cry and then say something about how i have been sad and lonely since my mom died (i'm going to hell, btw, i've used my family tragedy probably more than i should have these past few months). and then he will stop yelling at me and i will still pretend to be sad but inside i will be like "YES I WIN"

^^ that is how i feel. i have like no one on my side now even though i've been "cut off" my mom would still sneak me money sometimes - i mean not a lot but she'd send me a card with $100 in it here and there and say "don't tell your dad"

hopefully he'll forget about the cat once i either a) guilt trip b) cough or c) think of some other sob story

or like i said, maybe he won't notice for awhile

edit: well yea i used the stuff with my mom when i did bad on a test earlier this year and go t the lowest grade in my class. oops.

hahaha. that is how my dad is!!! actually since he started dating this new lady (ugh who isn't horrible which kind of makes me hate her more) he has like morphed into a human being

he used to just kind of exist and play tom clancy computer games. now he like does stuff. he did almost die, though. so maybe it could be his near death experience. i dunno. i guess i don't mind it. now i feel like he actually listens to me.

but yea my mom and i ALWAYS made up for his lack of emotions. i still do because i excel at being a nut job

i dont know if this is advice or just being a dick

but i have a hard time understanding people who are independent of their parents but still let them have influence over the everyday choices in your life.

seems like if you are independent and your dad starts to lecture, you can, in the nicest way possible, essentially tell him to suck it. at some point he will have to realize that you are an adult who makes their own choices and faces their own consequences. as long as he has made it clear that he is not going to be bailing you out of any of those consequences, he needs to back off.

i mean, obv if it is some huge moral thing that will make your parents cut off contact with you, then it is a different kind of decision, but letting him make you feel guilty for getting a friggin cat???

well yea exactly and we've had that convo before - i know i'm not getting bailed out. i guess i'm staying at HIS house so if he doesn't want my pets there i understand that kind of. but it isn't about pets. he doesn't dislike my one cat (even though he pretends to - i catch him brushing her all the time) i think he just wants to pretend like he still has some control over my life or something. its weird.

right right right. no i don't live there. over thanksgiving i mean!! i have (well i guess don't HAVE but he wants met o and that sure makes it easier) to stay there over thanksgiving and i'd like to take kitties with me. he doesn't mind the one cat. she lived there most of last year. i will just get in trouble for having two not in trouble but probably some sort of responsibility lecture even though i'm pretty responsible. i mean no saint but

i did a horrible job of explaining. what i meant is that when i come home for thanksgiving break (which is tomorrow since i'm sick) i will have 2 cats instead of 1!
