I don't understand why you're going to highlight the fact that even non-gamers are making fun of the fact that it still has no games.
At the end of the day, everyone is using their Playstation 3 gaming console to do the same thing anyway:
Watch DVDs.

Here's the thing, the statement "it has no games" is entirely subjective. It has plenty of games. If you don't like any of them, that's your problem. Considering the 360 and PS3 share 90% of their libraries, saying it has no games paints a pretty bleak picture for the entire HD console landscape, which is obviously not true.
"But the ports, they are shitty!!!"
Yeah, the shitty games have shitty ports. The good games like CoD4, Devil May Cry 4, Burnout Paradise, and even Orange Box have excellent ports, and the differences in other games that people have bitched and moaned about border on nit picking and is really just a talking point for forum circle jerks such as this.
"But it has no exclusives"
Wrong, it has plenty of exclusives. Resistance, Motorstorm, Ninja Gaiden: Sigma, Warhawk, Heavenly Sword, Uncharted, R&C, Folklore, "that baseball game", UTIII (it's as much an exclusive as Gears of War, Bioshock, and Mass Effect), and more. As good as the 360s exclusive lineup? Hell no, but we're talking a year behind here, and PS3s first year was considerably better than the 360s first year. By summer GT5: Prologue and MGS4 will have hit and the gap will be almost nil. Not to mention Resistance 2, Killzone 2, and Little Big Planet later this year.
So again, completely subjective and considering what I know of most of your gaming habits (Golovko excepted), your opinions mean pretty much squat to anyone in this thread. If you don't like any of those exclusives, already own a 360, and bought a PS3 for gaming, well then you pretty much owned yourself, gg.
"It's overpriced."
Yes, its expensive, but the PS3 has never been overpriced. You know what's overpriced? $100 wireless adapters, $180 hard drives, and $50(a year) for online gaming. The PS3 was a great value at $600 and absolutely blows the 360 away at $400, especially given the outcome of the HD war. It's hands down the best value in CE, and gives more functionality then 4 devices combined for half the price with the added bonus of not having a 40% failure rate.
Honestly, I have no reason to defend the PS3 anymore. The fact that it out sold the 360 in NPD the past 2 months, won the HD media war, and has convinced pretty much every major 3rd party developer to jump on it's bandwagon is more than enough to make the PS3s critics (collectively) look like idiots. But hell, since I know none of you actually keep up with any of this, I thought I'd make it clear why you're wrong.

I have a PS3 so don't take my post coming from someone that is biased, but:
Quote : | "Considering the 360 and PS3 share 90% of their libraries," |
The PS3 might share 90% of it's library with the 360 might be true, but the 360 doesn't share 90% of it's library with the PS3.
Quote : | "Ninja Gaiden: Sigma," |
That's kinda/sorta an exclusive. It's just Ninja Gaiden that was released on the Original xbox with better graphics and an extra level or two. That's like saying that Bully game is an xbox exclusive (it might be but it's been out for years on PS2)
Quote : | "The PS3 was a great value at $600 and absolutely blows the 360 away at $400, especially given the outcome of the HD war.." |
I think it's a good value at $400 (what I bought my 40gig at) but you can't say that it's a better value because of the HD war. It's not like the 360 had a HDDVD drive built in. I know you can come back with 100s of arguments here.... But it's not going to convince me that the 360 is a bad value at 400 either (especially with Live Silver being free and much better than PSN)
Which brings me to another point. I like the fact that the PS3 can use any bluetooth headset to talk on PSN... But why can't I send voice messages like I do on Live Silver? Live Silver still allows more content than PSN. Both are free. Will PSN catch up?
I'd pay 5 dollars a month for PSN to be like Live Gold too. Why don't they get on the ball with a good online experience?3/31/2008 2:11:12 PM |

That and Sony didn't even think it was a good deal at 600$.
I would also love to be able to comment on people trolling, then literally not but hours later take the bait and rip the hook off the line all during standard 9-5 work hours.

^ I just plugged a Logitech DualAction in and it works, so there's a chance... but maybe not the gear shift.
I'm happy with the new update improving DivX and XVid support. Now there's better chance you can stream your Windows Media Player 11 library (if you don't wanna download UPnP media server software). Tried it on Naruto and it works up til the latest episode when they changed to H264 codec. You'll need to transcode on your computer before streaming with something like tversity for that.
If you download the $30 Warhawk, does it include the latest expansion?

You don't have to transcode anything, the PS3 will play H.264/X.264 video streams natively. What you will have to do, since it's probably inside an MKV, is convert it to a file format the PS3 will recognize. There a couple good apps that will do this, and preserve 5.1 audio.

It has motion- and acceleration-sensing, which the DualShock 2 didn't have. And the DualShock 2 had analog button sensitivity, which the original DualShock didn't have.

Instead of the $300 wheel, why don't you get Logitech's "official" wheel for GT? See Logitech's PS3 accessory site: http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/gaming/playstation_3/&cl=us,en
Amazon also has a package to buy the wheel and GT5 together for $190: http://www.amazon.com/Playstation-Logitech-Driving-Force-Racing/dp/B0015HYPOO/mysteryeggshomep
As for the PSN network needing to catch up, have you seen HOME? It will be like a SecondLife lobby to find people to match up against... YouTube link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ZY2vwlh5-g
