so I've decided to get a PS3, more for just MGS4 but I was also wondering what other games are there that are really good. Exclusives that is, I already have most cross-platform games for the 360. I'm not trying to troll, I'm just not really up to date on all the games. I'm more inclined to multiplayer games and was probably going to pick up Resistance used when I get it since MGS4 won't be out until June.

Are there any other games that are out I should check out? People recommend stuff like Uncharted and Ratchet and Clank but never been interested in singleplayer games.

Also, with the video playback stuff, I thought I read somewhere that you can only stream 4GB files and if you have HD stuff you have to split it, is that true?

if you want multiplayer exclusives, then warhawk is a must...resistance is also pretty good for a launch title

if you like multiplayer racing, motorstorm is also a fun game

I read that Gran Turismo 5 will only have 60-70 cars...

that is pretty weak considering gran turismo 3 on PS2 had a TON of cars.

Resistance made me want to quit playing FPS all together. It made me realize how much I suck at them. It's fucking tough (or at least was for me)

ok, so ive had my PS3 since Xmas. dont play a lot.

and how my CD drive doesnt work. it accepts the disk, but doesnt let me play it. my GF even called customer support and they said its probably shot.

WTF. is that a common problem? other games and movies also do not work.

this coming 1 day after i get rockband. now ill have to wait for ever dammit.

just remembered... last night, halfway through one of the songs the game just froze. and the sound was skipping. so i did a exit game and the system froze.

It's not a common problem and your drive is probably dead. It happens, call Sony and get it replaced. By all accounts, it only takes about 3 weeks, tops.

There was one post in the official ps3 forums of someone with drive issues that started with 2.17 update. He said changing a couple settings fixed it. Going into BD settings and changing "BD Internet Connection" to "Confirm" -

and turning off auto-start -

Might also want to wait for the firmware update that will go live at 1AM tomorrow, just in case. Most likely though, the drive is dead.

^^Nah, the game still sucks, the controls just made it unplayable. I'd use it on something like Heavenly Sword, Folklore, or UTIII.

yeah - see a couple-ten pages back when i sent my PS3 in when the hdmi was shot. It took less than 10 days and they just snd you a new unit. They send you a box in the mail that has a shipping label that is paid for, you send it off, and they send you one back. They track the whole thing. Simple as shit.

Initially at least, there was talk about more being added through downloads, but i doubt its going to get much bigger than this. They are going to want to save the mother load for GT5 proper.

As for the answer to this, just look throughout the beginning of this thread. It's the same people now as it was then, who at this point, care too much about their TWW reps to admit they were wrong from day one and would rather just keep trolling. Meanwhile, more and more people are picking up PS3s and the trolls/critics keep looking dumber.
