can't wait to see fucked up at king's later this month. (my rain date for missing them at hopscotch last year)

anyone know if they are playing david comes to life from top to bottom? they'll be great regardless, but this album just has such a logical song to song flow.

I don't think I talked about how amazing Curtis Eller is as a performer, and I saw him Monday at the Pinhook. If you get the chance to see him, please don't miss. Highly entertaining show.

that's a hell of a show.

I saw The Walkmen with White Rabbits and Spoon in Durham about 4 years ago, and they were great. Fleet Foxes at the Local 506 before the full length came out ranks up in my top 5 shows of all time. (up there along side Beck at Reynolds Coliseum and Radiohead at Tower Theater -- they were that good that night, imho).

^aw, dude. that show was completely insane. it's so weird to think about given how big they are now. i think it was actually a little bit after the full-length came out; i could be wrong about that, though. definitely, definitely the best show i've ever been to at 506.

that said, their new album is a little boring. i'd still see 'em, though, especially with the walkmen opening. and actually, i'm going to pitchfork festival, so i'll probably see them there.

yeah, man, that show was incredible.

you might be right about it being shortly after the release. they opened for Blitzen Trapper at the 506 just a few months before the show where they headlined as well.

the walkmen are awesome live. missed fleet foxes last round, but have heard good things about their live show. probably will check this one out provided the ticket prices aren't beyond bon iver/rosebuds territory.

I saw Pocket of Lollipops tonight in Miami.

I think they're playing Local 506 soon?

Go see em, they're fun. Chick doing bass and vocals and her SO on drums I believe.

Fucked Up was a blast last night. I was really drunk, but they sounded great and were a lot of fun. Stupidly, I wore sandals because I forgot to change to actual shoes. The strap on one broke in the first 30 seconds of Fucked Up's set, and I didn't want to run around in one sandal like a lunatic, so I ditched them both and ended up enjoying the rest of the show (which included stagediving for the first time in my life) barefooted haha. It was pretty weird and my feet hurt like crazy today.

Also, Wilco is playing Raleigh Amphitheatre 9/27, which is pretty cool by itself. But what sends it waaaaaay the fuck over the top is who's opening: Nick fucking Lowe. Can't believe that. I'm almost more excited for Lowe than Wilco, as much as I love Wilco.

come on man

you gotta know better than that

that's like rule #2 on the "things to never do at a show"

^haha, oh believe me, i do know that. i even went home to change my shirt and shoes after i got off work at 9:15. changed my shirt, forgot to put on shoes. just slipped my mind, made the night a little more memorable though haha.

another thing about that wilco show: it'll be on the release date of their new album, which is kinda cool.

fucked up was insane. i was just a few feet away when pink eyes came over and kissed one of the hopscotch dude's (greg?) stomach and when he got on top of the bar. fun times.

good news: cut copy and washed out at the cradle 9/27

bad news: it's the same night as wilco and nick lowe in raleigh

kind of insane that those four artists will be in the triangle on the same night. imagine if the four of them were all on the hopscotch bill.

Kings' biggest show since re-opening: M83 on 10/29

Definitely gonna sell out, he's way too big for Kings; heard it kinda fell into Kings' lap when the Cradle already had a show booked for that night.
