That could have been one we gave him during the visit.
I think Hunter would commit to us if there weren't any big schools after him. He and his mother love State, but he probably doesn't want to commit until after he gets to go on official visits to LSU, tOSU, UF. He also wants to take an OV to Wake Forest. I understand why he'd want to wait to check out those schools. Two of them have won the past 3 national titles and the other played for two of them. You have to check those schools out if they come calling. 8/10/2009 9:34:26 AM |

Also, 2009-signee Everett Proctor of Fayetteville suffered a torn labrum that had to be surgically repaired on Thursday. He will miss the 2009 season, O'Brien announced. " |

^EP definitely has size going for him, but it's doubtful he has Wilson's decision-making ability.
Russell's play last year was flat-out amazing, especially for a freshman. You can't expect that from every 3* dual-threat QB you recruit.
That being said, I've never seen the guy play. Maybe he does. 8/13/2009 9:27:29 PM |

wolfpackpigskin.com has a great article on Tobias Palmer
Quote : | "Curious just how fast Palmer really is?
"When I was graduating high school I probably ran a 4.3 or a 4.4," Palmer told us. "Since I've been down here in Georgia I have gained a lot of flexibility. I'm running a 4.25 right now. When asked how he came to be so fast he said that he had always been blessed with speed. "The coaches where I'm at compare me to Reggie Bush," Palmer said. "I'm not that big, but I'm really fast."" |

If you're talking about proctor than RS Freshman. He's only a freshman now, he hasn't played in a game so he can take his regular RS year. If he were to miss another year in the future due to injury he would be eligible for a medical hardship 6th year.8/14/2009 6:24:25 AM |

Crisp named as top prospect in NC
http://www.fayobserver.com/Articles/2009/08/16/924979
Raleigh's Crisp is North Carolina's top football prospect
Basketball changed Robert Crisp's life, but football is determining his future.
Crisp was devoted to basketball during his middle school days in Burlington and spent his summers playing for a prominent AAU squad. He played football, but only for fun.
But when Crisp found himself academically ineligible as an eighth-grader, he moved to Chapel Hill to live with his AAU coach, Pete Singer Sr.
"He (Singer) knew I had potential,'' Crisp said. "We talked to my mom about it, and decided it was a good move for my future.
"But at the time we all kind of thought that (future) was going to be in basketball.''
Crisp would eventually realize the football field was where he could best utilize his 6-foot-8, 300-plus-pound frame. By the summer after his sophomore year, major colleges were already extending scholarship offers.
More than 30 programs would make offers to Crisp before he eventually settled on N.C. State in early April. He'll enter his senior season at Athens Drive High in Raleigh, where he recently transferred, as one of the nation's top-rated prospects on the offensive line.
The immense interest in Crisp, his lofty national ranking and his potential for stardom at the college level are some of the reasons he heads The Fayetteville Observer's Preseason Top 50 list of North Carolina's best college prospects for 2009.
Crisp's selection marks only the second time in the 15-year history of The Fayetteville Observer's Top 50 rankings that an offensive lineman has been chosen for the top spot. He follows in the footsteps of Jack Britt's Xavier Nixon, who was No. 1 last year. Nixon is now a freshman at the University of Florida.
Crisp made the Chapel Hill varsity football squad as a freshman, but played sparingly. He earned a starting job at left offensive tackle the following year, but was still hooked on basketball and continued playing AAU ball that summer.
But in May 2008, Crisp attended a Nike football camp at the University of North Carolina. There, he earned most valuable offensive lineman honors over many ranked upperclassmen, including Nixon.
The performance created an immediate stir in recruiting circles.
"That's when I really started getting serious about football,'' Crisp said. "I actually started liking the sport more because I was better at it.''
N.C. State scored a major recruiting coup in April when it was able to land an oral commitment from Crisp over the likes of Florida, Florida State, Georgia and Michigan.
The reputation of N.C. State's coaching staff for putting offensive linemen in the NFL was a major drawing card for Crisp.
"My main goal for playing college football is to get to the next level,'' Crisp said. "Coach (Tom) O'Brien used to be an offensive line coach, and (offensive line) Coach (Don) Horton is one of the best in the country. So that was definitely a factor. I believe they can help me achieve my goals.'' 8/17/2009 9:53:59 AM |

Terry Talbott has committed to Michigan and Rob Havenstein has decided to delay his announcement until after his senior season:
Ohio defensive lineman Terry Talbott picks Wolverines
Michigan has gained a commitment from 6-foot-3, 260-pound defensive lineman Terry Talbott of Wayne (Huber Heights, Ohio).
Talbott also considered offers from Wisconsin and UCLA. He was also sought by Arkansas, UConn, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan State, North Carolina State and Cincinnati.
His brother, Terrence, has also pledged to the Wolverines.
Michigan now has 18 commitments.
Decision delayed for lineman Rob Havenstein
Three-star offensive tackle Rob Havenstein (Frederick, Md./Linganore) once planed to make his announcement before the start of his senior season. However, now its looking more like a post-season commitment, ESPN affiliate Web site InsideMDSports.com reports.
He's already scheduled two official visits planned to Maryland and Wisconsin.
Virginia, West Virginia and possibly Wake Forest could also receive official visits from the massive blocker.
Penn State, Duke, N.C. State, Kansas State, Rutgers and Stanford amongst others have also offered. 8/17/2009 11:13:42 AM |

Oh I agree it makes us look good, but do you think more players/people across the US will read an article from the Fayetteville Observer or see that we have a top 25 recruiting class on Scout/Rivals? I think both make us look good, but I think success builds on success, so if we can start landing top 25 recruiting classes consistently and have great coaches, then watch out.
