as annoying as overlong email titles can be, I would MUCH rather have an overlong email title with the full question in it than an email with no subject or a terrible subject and all the information inside. Going back to find emails 6 months later when someone titles it "hey" is a pita. And even in the present, when I am working on 3-4 projects it is annoying when no one specifies what project they are asking you about in the body at least but preferably in the subject.

By Monday she still hadn't answered me, so my boss told me to email this chick's secretary for the file.

Happy ending, right? Nope, get a snotty ass email from the chick saying, "If I don't respond to your email, you should just call me to ask me to respond to your email."

Definitely annoying. If it is someone who purposely does this on a regular basis and it is something I really want documentation of, I always send a follow-up email to the phone conversation that basically says 'this is a record of our phone conversation at X time on X day. This is what was discussed and these are the action items. If you disagree with anything here let me know otherwise I'm moving forward based on the phone call.'

If they are really flaky, and I wasn't planning to already, I'll CC someone who is somewhat related to the conversation just so that I have extra proof that it was sent on this date besides my saved sent mail.

I may be a little whiny today, but I don't think its fair that my coworker has waited all year to use up her vacation time, and now she's taking every fucking Friday off until the end of the year.

We have double log deadlines on Fridays and they're nuts around here, and of course my boss is "oh whatever" because he could give a flying fuck about anything as long as its not affecting his paycheck.

I've always thought it absolutely silly that many companies don't allow vacation day carryover from one year to the next. All it does is result in a concentration of employees taking vacation days at the end of the year and bringing overall company productivity to a crawl.

My boss had allowed me to carry over days but over the years that has turned into me carrying more and more over so he told me starting this year we must use our days by the end of the year. So rather than letting me take every friday or monday off for the last 3 months of the year he instead decided it was better to just give me an extra paycheck for 10 of those days. That will be added onto my bonus so I expect a large check before christmas time .
