Most of the Memphis guys at the time wouldn't have gotten into NCSU. Since Cal took them to the National Championship game, more top prospects without serious academic issues have been looking at Memphis. Before Derrick Rose, that wasn't really the case. Don't kid yourself, the academic bar at Memphis is arguably lower than any Division I program.

^ agreed. he was basically a PG version of Dennis Horner - could hit an open shot, but couldn't do anything on defense. Plus he screwed us out of a potential upset of Dook by deciding to drive to the basket at the end of the game instead passing to an actual scorer. He sucked.

The Wolfpack Hoops blog seems to have some sources close to the program. How else are they getting interviews with Ryan Harrow, Lorenzo Brown's coach, and all of those former State players? I don't think it's impossible that they know someone in the b-ball program that is hooking them up and passing along information to them about recruits. As long as they don't end up like statefansnation.com and go all negative then I doubt they'll lose their source inside.
