oh there were rules - unfortunately my jackass uncle didn't want to participate so he let my cousins do it instead, and when i stole the gift that they had, they started screaming and crying. and instead of being disciplined, a few of my family members were all like: "why'd you have to be so mean to your cousins!?!?!?" blah blah blah

^ and my cousins ages are from 1 year old (december 5th) and 27 years old (coming up in april) way too many ages. we usually did the 18 and older members of the family in the gift exchange (aunts, uncles, cousins and spouses, etc)

I like gift exchange things in theory but I always end up with things I will never use. Last year I opened a new set of pillows and I was excited about those because I am a dork and I needed new pillows, but someone stole those and I ended up with one of those u-shaped pillows that has a massage thing in it. Though I actually looked for that the other day so I guess it's not really useless, but I couldn't find it and got pissed off.
