wtf happened to his dad in the coffin?!?! but i know what you mean, every stranded island show needs the prototypical "what happens whent he water runs out?!?!" show. it reminded me of Voyage of the Mimi when the kid started drinking the salt water and the old man was like-you're going to get dehydrated-and i was like-but he's drinking water, how the crap does he dehydrate?!?! haha, i was so smart way back in 5th grade

i almost expected them to find a giant sheet of plastic to make a giant evaporation filter thing

the airlines screwed him over and only put the coffin on the plane and not his dad's body. remember, the lady said he didn't have the right papers to transport the body... He thought they gave in and put the body and coffin on there.
Then when he found the coffin and opened it and saw that he got screwed, he got pissed and started bashing it.

That is my opinion on what happened. I don't think his dad escaped the coffin, however, that could happen given the crazy stuff on this show.

You cant be serious...thats the most absurd theory Ive read so far. Do you really think people that work at an airline would open the coffin, REMOVE the body, put the coffin on the plane, and then try to figure out what the hell to do with a dead body? I just dont see people at the airline having the urge to deal with disposal of a dead body.

^no. If you do not have the proper papers, they keep the body and turn it over to local authorities (mortuaries or whatever), but will NOT allow it to be transported over seas without the proper papers.
Jack was pleading with the lady to please let him take his father back to the states to have a proper burial. The airlines knew they were never going to convince him otherwise, so they complied and only put the coffin on the plane. Well, luck has it, he finds the coffin and sees that there is no body in it.

That is what I think happened. Just my theory. I could be totally wrong.
