just read this on bigblueinteractive.com

Quote :
"Officials Officially Screw the Giants: FOXSports.com is reporting that officials in the Giants-Chargers game awarded a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty to the Chargers when in fact the Giants should have been the beneficiary of the penalty. On the Chargers' kickoff after San Diego took a 28-20 lead early in the third quarter, a flag was thrown for a 15-yard face mask penalty on #92 of the Giants. It was believed at the time that the officials simply got the number wrong as DE Michael Strahan does not play on special teams. However, FOXSports is reporting that the officials meant to flag #92 on the Chargers and marked the penalty off against the wrong team. Instead of starting with good field position, the Giants' possession started at their own 8-yard line. The Giants ended up punting and the Chargers scored on their next possession to take a 35-20 lead. "

so Sunday's game was my first Giants game to attend, and it was fantastic. Man, it is so much different than being at a Panthers game. No one takes any shit and if you are a fan of the opposition, you will have a bad day. There were some fights and we kicked ass and it was awesome. I think I will go back in Dec. to see the Cowboys game.

Go Giants!

^^^^^^^Quit yer bitching, the Giants were gonna lose that game anyway. The Chargers were clearly the better team.

Yo, I'm gonna be on a fucking plane in Texas on Sunday during the game. Does anyone have anyway or taping the game or anything so I can watch the game when I get back? This is a big game and I gotta be able to watch it.

"Cowboys rookie OT Petitti to meet childhood hero -- on the field

By STEPHEN HAWKINS, AP Sports Writer
October 14, 2005
IRVING, Texas (AP) -- Rob Petitti grew up a New York Giants fan, often wearing the No. 92 jersey of Michael Strahan.

This week, the Dallas rookie offensive tackle will be up close to one of his childhood heroes. He goes face-to-face on the field against the six-time Pro Bowl defensive end when the Cowboys play the Giants on Sunday.

``I've been watching this guy for the past 13 years, so I know what he can do,'' Petitti said Thursday. ``I know he's a great player, a future Hall of Famer. ... It's awesome to get to play against a guy that you could say was my favorite Giants player in high school, besides L.T. (Lawrence Taylor), back in the day.''

Petitti said he may have gotten Strahan's autograph in the past, but doesn't remember ever talking to him.

There aren't likely to be any pleasantries exchanged Sunday, when Petitti will be trying to keep Strahan from sacking Cowboys quarterback Drew Bledsoe. Strahan has 121 1/2 career sacks, including 3 1/2 in four games this season.

Cowboys tight end Dan Campbell, who once played for the Giants with Strahan and now has to help block him, has been giving Petitti plenty of advice this week. Coach Bill Parcells has as well.

Petitti's warmup for Strahan was facing Philadelphia's standout defensive end, Jevon Kearse, last Sunday.

``Petitti had a solid day. It wasn't a perfect day, but Petitti is a young guy who for the most part he handled him pretty good,'' right guard Marco Rivera said. ``He's a young guy who is getting better every game. Now he's got a little confidence knowing he can go up against a guy like Kearse and kind of hold his own.''

When Parcells saw Petitti at the Senior Bowl in January, the offensive lineman had an injured toe and weighed more than 360 pounds. But the kid from New Jersey had also been a four-year starter at Pittsburgh, and the Cowboys drafted him in the sixth round.

By the season opener, Petitti was down to 325 pounds and was the starting right tackle, the first Cowboys rookie since Dave Widell in 1988 to start the season opener at that position.

``He's been pretty good from really the get-go here for us. Older guys have kind of taken to him and he's had a lot of pressure on him, but he's done well,'' Parcells said. ``I thought he did a good job (last week), considering the competition. If he stays healthy, I think he's going to be OK. But he's got another one coming this week.''

"

Poor kid.

Giants (+3.5) over COWBOYS
One of the few redeeming pieces in the 2005 "Best American Sports Writing" book: Michael Lewis' feature about Eli Manning's rookie season. Not only will you feel infinitely better about the Eli Era (if you didn't already), but you'll feel infinitely worse about the Kurt Warner Era (if you didn't already). I think Eli is for real, personally. Imagine if he won a championship before his brother? Would Peyton end up going Venus Williams on us, or would it play out more like the Klitschko brothers, how they somehow remain united? Aren't you secretly rooting for this?

(By the way, earlier this week, I was talking to my buddy Gus and playing the "If you had to bet your life on it, which NFC team do you think will make the Super Bowl this year?" game, and both of us begrudgingly picked the Giants. Warrants mentioning. They're the scariest NFC team right now, especially with Team Tagliabue giving them an unprecedented nine home games this season. Even David Stern wouldn't dare to pull that with the Knicks -- although there's still time.)

Will Allen should not be playing for us. He might be able to do well in the arena league or the Canadian league or something, but not in the NFL with the Giants. What a freaking joke. Ints go right through is hands (2 tonight, one end up being caught by Meshawn). Tim Lewis needs to get something going with our secondary coverage, or his ass is grass.

god damn

i'm glad you noticed this shit

williams was the fucking worst at that the past few years

yet home field zebras don't make the call now that it's illegal?

and

the challenge that the giants lost was fucking absurd

even the cowboys fans in the bar were like WTF

gamebreaker imo tho

jacobs' fumble.

9/10 times he would be in for the TD...just caught a shitty break.

^ He made a rookie mistake, and now it's over. Bottom line, our defense couldn't do anything about them the entire game. Sure they only scored 16 points, but that's mainly because of stupid turnovers on their part (not play makeing takaways on our part). Our Offense was pretty bad too.

Giants always suck after the bye. I think our D is going to stiffen against the Broncos. We can stop the run, so I think they will be passing a lot. We should get at least a pick or two.

it's not just home field zebras

it's zebras around the league

i had been noticing this tackling from other players long before the Giants game

a;; have been uncalled
