I was a little worried through the first two periods, as they played quite sloppy, but the third and overtime made up for it. It was my first time going to a game this year. 4-0 at home this season; go Canes!

Just got back from the game. I had a lot of fun, and I'm glad that hockey's back this year. It seems like the Canes need to work on getting one-timers though, and work on the forwards not following the puck and playing their position more to open up the ice more. At one point I was reminded of mite, and squirt level games where everyone just follows around the puck.

Friday sold out? If true, then that's awesome to hear. While I definitely love being able to walk up an hour before the game and buy a ticket for $10, hopefully this success will get the place filled. 13,098 was the attendence tonight, which is pretty darn good for a Wednesday game stuck in between two bigger games.

The game was awesome! Especially OT! Our power play still scares me a bit. I am glad we got the W! Staal has been on fire so far this season!

YAY! Go 'CANES!!!

Friday's game is not sold out, but between the Flyers' normal draw, a Friday night game, the Canes' winning ways, and what looks to be the end of the World Series, tickets should be going fast.

PP is 10th in the league, BTW, just been shaky this week.

1st place in the Southeast (with a game in hand)
2nd overall in the Eastern Conference
Staal tied for first in the NHL in scoring.

Damn we are getting spoiled.

^^^I know the PK we faced tonight is great. But the part of our power play that scares me is that we just have had a hard time lately keeping the puck in the zone when we're on it. I am sure Lavi will fix this! I am so excited about this season! I'm sad baseball is over now, but I am happy I can focus on hockey now!

It sure has been a good season so far! I was at the homeopener and when more money rolls around, I'll be at many more games!

GO CANES!

Student discounts are 5 dollars off upper level, and 20 dollars off lower level

It was funny listening to local sports radio when the Hurricanes weren't going after the huge name FAs.

Hopefully our success will shut them up for a few minutes.

Saw this in John Buccigross's column:

Quote :
"John,

Gotta believe you are wrong in picking the 'Canes to finish 14th in the East. While they may not have any marquee names today, they have a team that has good talent from top to bottom with some future stars that just aren't household names yet. These guys are good, and your assessment is bad. I'll print this e-mail and eat it if they don't make it to the playoffs.

Steve Scott

As I've said before, making predictions is an inexact science because you never know when a young player will make a huge leap and when a veteran may unexpectedly take a fall. The Hurricanes have had two young players step up in a big way. Cam Ward looks like an Andrew Raycroft clone in net in terms of his technique and coolness. Also, Eric Staal's hands and feet have gotten two gears quicker. When you are 6-foot-3 and you have quick hands, you will have little problem scoring goals. The Hurricanes' special teams are playing well. Go to "statistics" here on ESPN.com and go to "special teams." Notice something? I still question that Carolina will have enough over 82 games to make the playoffs, but yes, they are better than I thought they would be, because Ward and Staal are way better than I projected. I hope they keep it up, because they are classic, graceful NHL players. Staal could be this generation's Jean Beliveau."

Whoa whoa settle down now, we're only 1/8 through the season. Hopefully they can keep this level of play up, though, and hang another Southeast championship banner up at the RBC Center.

anyone who says hockey is boring should be smacked upside the head with a goalie stick after what we've seen this season.

with that said, GO CANES!

Damn looks like I missed one hell of a game.

Guess picking up Eric Staal in the late rounds of all of my fantasy drafts is paying off.

Tons of highlights on ESPN tonight, all set to the tune of the BRASS BONANZA!

Staal was kicking ass all night, but that laser for his second was in-fucking-credible. Ditto for Brind'Amour's defender-sidestep and quick fiver and Stillman's stickhandling that turned Niitty inside-out.
