Nah, I wasn't physically stuck, it was stuck in cutscene mode (possibly because I quicksaved during the cutscene?) anyways, I just used "movetoqp" to move to the quest point. I then selected the NPC who was there (with the console up) and typed "kill" Since his death was the resolution of the cut scene, it ended the glitch. Having the console to fix shit like this is nice, but ah well we shouldn't need to.

anyone know how to find an NPC by name or ID?

Doing the Imperial Corruption quest and it is showing me to talk to Itius Hayn, but also says to make sure the 2 witnesses get to him safely, yet doesn't show me where they are and I can't find them ANYWHERE.

the guy who sells the anvil manor is located in a local bar on the west side of anvil. The one in the imperial city is a commerce store with some old hag that will sell you a shack for 2g's. Pretty crappy, but a place is a place.

By the way I didn't see anyone mention this but there is a way to get unlimited gold by simply going to the orc merchant lady that just south of the 1st oblivion gate. Just equip your most expensive weapon WHILE ON A HORSE and go to her and sell her that weapon. She will give you the gold but you'll still have the weapon in possession. I repeated this many times and got about 5,000 gold pieces in a few minutes. This will work on any merchant standing outside and you have to be on a horse. very cheap glitch but making money the honest way gets boring and repetetive.

ive never had to "make money." ive also never struggled for cash. most of the good shit is from dungeons. sometimes exploits are necessary in a game, if it is unduely hard and you cant get past, but that kinda shit is just lame.

ive played some pretty boring games in my time, but this aint one. hell, it is essentially a string of fetch quests for the guild and it still seems fun. thats hard to pull off.

FUCK YOU AUTOSAVE

OK, I had forgot that I stole some shit, and walked in the house of the murder scene of where the vampire slayer had killed a guy that was supposedly a vampire. Soon as I walk all I hear is "STOP! YOU BREAK THE LAW yada yada yada!!!" and I had saveD right before walking into the door, but apparently the autosave THAT HAPPENS AFTER YOU ENTER A DOOR overwrites the last save... the save that I had before making the save prior to walking into the house was from 2 hours before... goddamnit goddmanit.

I found that out the hard way. I had just left the house of the lady who's ex-lover had taken all of her money, because I decided I wanted to journey on an exciting quest. That is when I started the new quest of going to vampire slaying scene. Fuck fuck fuck

Maybe I did not save right before I walked into the house. I could have swore I did, but according to what you say I did not, because I next to the last save is from 2 hours prior to the gay autosave.

I quicksave pretty regularly, and then save to a separate file when I'm done with my session.

i've got 2 saves + autosave. i have one slot in town or in a stable location then save over the other slot as i progress through a dungeon or quest. if im in a really hard local i might add a new save and delete it after im done that area. having a few saves helps me remember where shit is, but still be safe.

Any of you guys found the guy in the woods north of the nyrn root place where you can kill him as many times as you want but he is just unconcious and he will get right back up? He wont attack you because he took an oath and his gods will protect him. Which they do. Nad he just wants to be left alone. Kinda boring

You can't kill characters that the game needs to keep around, just knock them unconscious.

say I was to just head south. Say from imperial city. My goal is just to get as far south as the game will let me. Do the enemies get progressivly harder as you get farther from civilization or are they always comparable to your level.

Also, do dungeons repopulate themselves? Or once you clear one its clear forever?

And does any NPC in the game respawn?(maybe just things such as wolfs) As in I kill this random ass bandit on this hill, will that hill be safe forever?

I know dungeons respawn, I don't think human NPC's do though. Just monsters.

and I'm pretty sure that if you just go as far south as possible, you will get the same NPC's as you would anywhere else. They level as you do.

i got arrested in bruma, got stuck in jail with that guy (jakar or something)...i got bored and killed him (as in, not getting back up again) and it told me a character vital to a quest storyline had died, and that the storyline was no longer valid...i think characters required for the actual GAME (main quest, not side quests) cannot be killed unless they're supposed to die

ok i just got the game and installed it and am now running it. if i just let the screen sit, i see like a gray box flashing behind the game (the taskbar is at the top, like a regular window with "oblivion" in it). i already turned down my graphics but that didnt fix it. anyone know what to do to get rid of it?
