you are right. We win more games when we do not score first, buffalo wins games when they score first.

what I was getting at which did not end up happening was that the team to take the lead was going to start the protect the lead at all costs game, both teams were crazy for blocked shots both team's goalies are on hot streaks, both teams are fast and can hold a lead.

it seems that both teams were so fast that transition game played a huge role.

also buffalo was very good at blocked shots, poke check, disrupting our puck movement, and transition game especially near the end.

I think that if we can stop being so fancy with the puck and start putting more on net from good angles and keep the goalies honest on occasion by throwing bad angle shots on net we can start to get back in the series. we are always right there for rebounds. it is one of our strengths so if we can just get a few lucky bounces we will be golden.

correct me if I am wrong, but if a team is crazy at blocking shots and giving protection i say make them pay for it. Slap shots up high more high point shots making them come out from the protect mode to get some more room infront of the net.

All i saw that game was shot from point deflected on front, dumped to other end and us having problems getting into the zone. we need to make it difficult for them to get into our zone. They did a great job of deflating one of the best power plays in the league so we need to go back to basic hockey, pounding in the front of the net some wide angle shots/passes off the backboards. Only something crazy is going to get miller off his game

I'm more concerned with the amount of standing around by the Canes' D in their own zone than I am about some half-wit in Buffalo. On two separate occasions (on the first goal and again in the third period), Cam was left alone to make multiple saves on multiple Sabres while the D refused to move their skates.

I was born and raised in Buffalo, NY and i'm rooting hard for the Sabres but i need to tell you guys to disregard anything coming from buffalo radio, news or broadcast. No one in the buffalo media is sure which sport is which, much less anything about any of the sports. Don't take it personal, the city is full of no it all assholes..... which is why i got out ASAP!

The Canes need to skate better tonight, and crash the net more, they are taking too many shots from the point that are getting blocked by a good blocking team.

Buffalo needs to work on the Forecheck more.

I think the biggest thing the canes need to improve on from game one is puck handling, i mean they made some really good passes to guys in scoring position, but it seemed like they had botched pass after botched pass

as for the sabres, I'd like to see them clear the defensive zone a little better, I mean the D was stellar, but it seemed that I found myself thinking "come on guys, get it out already" too many times
