if i did the dvd thing, would i need to convert the file to a different format to play on my tv? (obviously i've never done this before) 1/23/2007 7:41:21 PM |

I take it you've never used a DVD burning program before.
But in all honesty, I wouldn't waste a whole DVD on one episode. Download the episode, copy it to a laptop, use an S-video cable or whatever you have to play it on your TV. A little bit more of a hassle, but it saves you from having the entire season lay across your desk on 24 discs. 1/23/2007 7:56:34 PM |

well i've got a 50 pack of dvd's that i got over a year ago and i haven't even opened them, so i'm not really worried about wasting one. and i just want this one episode, i'm not worried about the whole season.
i mean i'm sure i can work nero since i burn cd's a lot, i just don't know if i need to change the format 1/23/2007 8:20:00 PM |

I use Roxio and it has a "Burn DivX to DVD" option, which basically lets you drag and drop .avi files in your compilation DVD. I'm sure Nero would have some sort of DVD creator from avi files. 1/23/2007 10:01:04 PM |

I got an issue w/ the Jack's brother thing. There's no way in hell they came from the same mother. Graham has the genetic prowess of Clint Howard and Jack is a fuckin' solja! It's like the movie "Twins" when Danny DeVito was the "genetic garbage" left over from Ahnold. So, a brother's jealousy (wife & Jack) from 10 plus years ago drives him to create an elaborate terror plot and frame him in the process? I think he would have best been left just some random dude Jack had to torture. I guess torturing your brother is one of the only taboo things they haven't done but why just leave it alone? He also hasn't had to rape a corpse in order to somehow save the world, I guess that's next. That being said, I'll be there next Monday @ 9. 1/23/2007 10:12:38 PM |

I don't think he did it to frame jack. At the beginning of season 5 (and throughout season 5) they were trying to kill Jack to keep him from getting involved. 1/24/2007 10:13:50 AM |

not every season has occured 1 year after the previous season, some have been more than 1 year i think...like this season maybe--how long did they say jack was in china?" |
I posted this is the season 5 thread (http://www.thewolfweb.com/message_topic.aspx?topic=331134&page=51)....
Quote : | "With the big gaps in between seasons, Jack is 8 years older than at the beginning of season 1:
Between S1 and S2 - 18 months (1.5 years after S1) S2/S3 - 3 years (4.5 years after S1) S3/S4 - 18 months (6 years after S1) S4/S5 - 18 months (7.5 years after S1)
Keifer is really 40, but Jack had to be mid 30s in season 1... if it keeps up with the 1-2 year gaps between seasons, by season 8 he will supposed to be like 50 something. Even senior citizen Bauer would kick some ass though." |
20 months passed between Season 5 and 6, bringing it to a total of 9 years 2 months since the beginning of season 1. So if it's been 9 years since he saw his dad, it would be right around the time that season 1 took place.

the timing for presidents works out
Season 1 1. Unnamed person is currently president. 2. Palmer become president shortly after season 1 (.5 years after season 1). Season 2 (1.5 years after season 1, ~8 months after David takes office) 2. Palmer is still the president. Season 3 (4.5 years after season 1, 3.8 years after David had taken office) 2. Palmer is thinking about running for a new term in season 3, decides not to run. 3. His sucessor takes office shortly after season 3. (4.8 years after season 1, 4 years after David took office). Season 4 (6 years after season 1, 1.2 years after David's successor has been in office) 4. David's successor is in the plane crash. 4a. President Logan takes the stage. Season 5 (7.5 years after season 1, 2.8 years after David's successor/Logan have been in office). 4a. Logan is still in office. 4b. Assume Logan is impeached and his successor takes office. 5. Wayne Palmer takes office (~8.9 years after season 1, 8 years after David had taken office) Season 6 (9.4 years after season 1, 8.5 years after David had taken office) 5. Wayne Palmer is still the president.

yeah..... i could see them having Nadia be bad, especially after Milo went out of the way to help her. But once again, Bill is being a bitch about all that. He's gone to bat for Jack, Chloe, Edgar, Curtis, etc in the past, generally allowing them to do their jobs regardless of whatever artibrary restrictions had been placed on them. He rolled over like a dog, though, as soon as restrictions were put on Nadia. 1/30/2007 9:15:11 AM |

yeah, the "CTU has a mole" and "The President's adviser is a mole" stuff has to stop. They can't do that every season because it's just way too easy of a cop out to explain why the terrorist always gets away or is one step ahead of Jack all the time.1/30/2007 12:59:17 PM |

NEW YORK (Hollywood Reporter) - Monday's ratings battle between Jack Bauer's "24" and NBC's "Heroes" ended much as the first, with another win for the Peacock.
"Heroes" beat "24" head to head, but "24," along with a stronger performance from "Prison Break," helped Fox to eke out a win for the night in the adults 18-49 demographic, according to preliminary data released Tuesday by Nielsen Media Research. Meanwhile, "Deal or No Deal" prevailed at 8 p.m. and a repeat "CSI: Miami" outweighed new episodes of "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" and "What About Brian."
It was another win for NBC's "Heroes" (13.6 million, 6.1 rating/14 share in adults 18-49), although it was down 8 percent in the demo compared with last week's return to the air. "Heroes" was still the dominant player, with a 13 percent margin in the demo over "24" (15.3 million, 5.4/12) and 33 percent above "24" in adults 18-34.
But "24" was still up slightly compared with last week in viewership and steady in the demo.
The 8 p.m. hour went solidly to "Deal or No Deal" (16.9 million, 4.8/12), which beat "Prison Break" (9.9 million, 4.1/11) plus repeats on ABC and CBS. "Prison Break" was up 14 percent compared with its average in the demo and a similar amount in viewership.
Yet CBS, whose schedule was all repeats, came back at 10 p.m. to win with "CSI: Miami" (13.4 million, 3.9/10). It beat "Studio 60" (6.9 million, 3.0/8), which couldn't capitalize on NBC's big audiences between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. "What About Brian" averaged 5.7 million, 2.7/8).
Nightly averages: ABC (7.5 million, 3.1/8); CBS (10.6 million, 3.2/8); Fox (12 million, 4.8/12); NBC (12.5 million, 4.6/11); and The CW (2.4 million, 1.1/3)." |

If interested, this special will be running throughout the end of the season at Hi-5, 510 South Glenwood Ave.
