QB K. Warner QB B. Johnson QB
RB W. Parker RB W. Dunn RB D. Williams RB T. Duckett RB
WR T. Owens WR K. McCardell WR Mi. Clayton WR A. Toomer WR K. Robinson WR <-- (autopick) C. Jackson WR
TE L. Smith TE
K J. Kasay K
DEF Seattle DEF Atlanta DEF
______________
Given my team above, should I try to trade Brad Johnson and Mi. Clayton for Philip Rivers? I think it would be sweet to have Rivers and good to not have two old quarterbacks. The guy with P.Riv autodrafted Big Ben and Deion Branch, so he is somewhat thin at those spots.
Or, should I instead give up different players to get a better, more proven QB than Rivers? 9/5/2006 6:58:51 PM |

haha its ok dude
you really need some WR help
go grab Gabriel for NE or WIlliamson for MIN off the waiver wire
I would also make the trade you were talking about, I would never want a #2 WR on TB 9/5/2006 7:14:01 PM |

DEF Jacksonville (14)

you did well to take Portis/Rudi at #10/11.
Reggie Wayne at #30 is fine, but then you probably fucked up at 31 with Hasselbeck.
You woulda been better off taking a #2 WR (Chambers, Moss, or whoever was available).
Your receiving corps is seriously lacking a #2 so hopefully Clayton or Curtis (both sleepers of mine) step up for you. 9/5/2006 7:58:55 PM |

You'll need dunn in week 1 as portis is out most likely
also RB G. Jones is out for the year I believe, so you might want to dump him 9/5/2006 8:03:18 PM |

The guys in my league went immediately from drafting RBs to WRs. Everything I read mentioned grabbing QBs after RBs. By the time I got to recievers, it was already too late.
I'm feeling a little uneasy about Portis even though I really wanted him. I know he's questionable in the first week. What are the chances of his shoulder being a problem this season? 9/5/2006 8:05:06 PM |

how the hell did you get Clinton and Rudi at 10 and 11? you must have some idiots in your league. Those were both gone by pick 8 in my league.
^^^^ I think he took Dunn at 31, and Hasselbeck in the 5th.

no he took hasslebeck.
basically you reached on Hasslebeck at #30, you coulda gotten a similar QB a few rounds later.
You reached on Tony Gonzalez unless he really rebounds... TE is fairly deep this year so no need to burn a high pick on a guy who is more name than game at this point in his career.
basically getting Portis/Rudi at 10/11 was really nice for you but you offset some of that with some reaches in the next few rounds. You should be competitive though especially if one of those guys steps up to be a good #2 WR. 9/5/2006 8:43:24 PM |

drafted this team tonight in a 14 team league. it's a keeper league where we keep 2 guys, my 2 keepers are shaun alexander and cadillac williams.
ben roethlisberger shaun alexander cadillac williams larry fitzgerald torry holt terry glenn john kasay falcons dst
philip rivers deangelo williams vernand morency brandon jacobs heath miller vincent jackson
thoughts?
qb/wr/wr/wr/rb/rb/k/dst are starters. up to 2 WR's can be a TE instead.
6 pts passing TD, 1 pt per 50 pass yards, 1 pt per 25 rush/receiving yards, etc. no points for receptions/completions. 9/6/2006 2:38:27 AM |

qb's = no, other than that it looks good.
pitt runs the ball... especially in the red zone, rivers will be alright but not what you will want from a starting QB.

yeah i know qb is my weak spot, however when ben comes back i think we will see more of the playoff style offense from the steelers, and even some no huddle. I expect a much more balanced offense this year. with batch in there we'll stick to heavy run w/some play action sprinkled in, but w/ben i think we will go to the air more, and with more success than the tommy maddox adventure in 2003.
anyway, all the qb's i had my eye on got picked up pretty early (one guy kept drew brees as one of his 2 keepers, and then for some unexplicable reason drafter kurt warner with his first round pick).
here is a roster grid with all the teams: http://www4.ncsu.edu/~kaherndo/rostergrid.htm

I just had a guy offer me Eli Manning for Santana Moss and TJ Duckett. I already have Jake Delhomme so I dont know if it is worth it for me to do the trade. I have starting at rb willis mcghee from buffalu and rudi johnson from cinncinatti. I have Anquan Boldin and Joey Galloway at WR already. ^^^^ just a comment...i despise league settings where you have to get 25 yards for a point and TDs are still 6 points. that equates a 151 yard rushing/recieving game to a 1 yard recieving and a TD game...just stupid. 9/6/2006 8:27:34 AM |

drafted last night.
in my league we start 1 QB, 1 RB, 2 WR, 2 RB/WR, TE, K, D, utility.
THe utility can be any offensive player, but for obvious reasons you're going to want to start a 2nd QB there every week.... (Passing td's worth 4)
i think it went pretty well for me considering i got the dreaded #4 pick...
QB: K.Warner(#64), B.Leftwich(#97), D.Brees(#124), P.Rivers(#137) RB: T.Barber (#4), K.Jones(#37), C.Taylor(#44),W.Lundy(#77),T.Bell(#84),J.Addai(#104),M.Barber(#117) WR: C.Johnson (#17), L.Fitzgerald(#24),D.Driver(#57),K.Curtis(#177) TE: J.Wiggins(#157) K:J.Feely(#164) D:Jaguars(#144)
For some reason people were avoiding RB's that will split carries like the plague... so i loaded up on them. My QB's are all injury prone so i went ahead and grabbed four of them to offset that a little. My receivers are outstanding, the only position that pisses me off is TE. I was gonna take Cooley at #137 but i figured I needed Rivers and that Cooley would be there at #143 since everyone behind me had a TE...someone took him as a backup which really ticked me off. Ive got plenty of trade bait for an elite TE though if I feel like getting one later...

Right now I have a quandry, and I'm not sure what to do. My RBs are LT2, Dunn, McAllister, and Chris Brown, but someone just released Rhodes. I have two other players from Indy (my backup TE Clarke and K Vinateri), so I'm concerned about overloading on them because of the bye week and if they have a poor game.
I'm wondering what others think about getting rid of one of the backs and picking up Rhodes. Just tossing it around now. 9/6/2006 2:55:08 PM |

Who should I start at QB
Delhomo vs ATL Bledsoe vs JAX Rivers vs OAK
Atl and Jax both have pretty decent D's but oakland is teh suck....Im kinda leaning towards rivers just cause I think he could do alright against oakland but Im not leaning that much though.

Ok, trying to get some better receivers off of waivers. Anything wrong with this priority:
D. Gabriel < everyone seems to be high on him E. Parker < starter? T. Taylor < starter? W. Welker J. Cotchery < starter? A. Chatman < injured? D. Hall < injured?

Chatman is injured, Hall isn't. It kinda depends on how your league handles return yards.

making sure im not crazy here:
I need to start 3 RB's. Tiki is a lock.... which 2 from this group?
KJones vs Seattle CTaylor vs Redskins WLundy vs Philly TBell vs STL JAddai vs NYG MBarber vs Jax
also, Warner vs SF is a lock...
but for my 2nd QB Leftwich vs Dallas Brees vs Cle (no way) Rivers vs Oakland
Ive got Leftwich in there but something tells me Rivers might be the safer start...

Here's my lineup:
QB - Delhomme RB - Tiki Barber RB - Duce Staley WR - Larry Fizgerald WR - Darrell Jackson TE - Jeremy Shockey K - Adam Vinatieri DST- Broncos
Bench:
QB - Chris Simms RB - Chris Brown RB - Domanick DAvis WR - Lee Evans DST - Miami DST - ATL
Couple of question marks.
With Big Ben Out, is Miami a better offensive choice this week than the Broncos? Also, Darrell Jackson is still not completely recovered.. Is Lee Evans a better play for at least this week? Any other lineup suggestions for this week? 9/7/2006 10:03:15 AM |
