I like PCA. A bit conservative, and they like to touch my (lug)nuts, and I don't like anybody just touching my "stuff", but you win some, and you loose some. I will miss you Nick, as will Coco.
Speaking of, I did some remodeling, which may or may not speed up the Z06/Evo movement:
oh, and to match:
Makes me think, maybe I should've replaced the rear tires first... Ahmet 10/28/2006 1:46:40 PM |

I spent about a half hour beating stuff out of the way, bending things and using bungee(sp?) cords to keep things in place and out of the way of the wheel. It's not horrible, but looks like in the front it needs front apron (nose piece by the kidney grilles), a fender, hood, all the fender liners/brake ducts/etc. and there's damage to the rear quarter, fuel filler, rear apron and rear bumper. I certainly hope they total it, but it will probably be close. Ahmet 10/28/2006 1:59:02 PM |

Eh, don't think that would've helped too much. If the fronts had enough traction, I suppose on power it'd help pull it through, but... I'd rather wreck every few years than live w/an understeering sh*tbox the rest of the time. The more I think about it, the more I feel that the car did take steering input just fine, it's that the rear would not gain traction. I was fighting it for quite some time... Tires, rear tires. That and more experience w/oversteer @60+mph. I feel bad, I think it would've been possible to catch it, or at least keep it sliding. I need to find more spots to play around. Anybody know an abandoned air strip nearby? Ahmet 10/28/2006 2:53:54 PM |

this isnt a hurricane PCA event so i dont even know that coco will be there.... its free for instructors, sure, but only if the stars are all aligned and the porsche gods are happy.... read all the bullshit fine print. PCA pretty much sucks, i get bitched at when I pass other instructors when they refuse to give a point, and my students are always more concerned with how clean their wheels are than driving. 10/28/2006 6:59:09 PM |

The scary thing about the Ahmet's I40 spin was the lack of reaction from other drivers on the highway. Ahmet spun right past a white Camry and I am not even sure the driver knew what was happening...I guess they must have been on the phone.
My wheels are dirty and I don't mind doing PCA events but I have to side with Nick on this one...I can't believe the fine print. Either its free for instructors or it isn't .. thats just bullshit. 10/29/2006 9:08:10 PM |

I know its wrong, but thats the shit i picture when i think about EVOs 10/30/2006 9:30:30 AM |
