Kudos to whoever put this in the Kenan Stadium Wikipedia article underneath the picture of the stadium when empty.

Also under "Capacity" someone put this.

Anybody want to start a tailgate group? Especially for away games. Graduating messes up your tailgating group. All your friends that you used to tailgate with are either spread out across the country, or about to graduate and move from Raleigh. The FSU game is the game I would really like to go to. The tickets are currently $45.
Another tailgate pic.
And one more to hold us over. Isn't it pretty?

60 days left. I can't believe it. Only 2 more months till football time in West Raleigh is back in full effect.
Seriously guys WTF? I know the hunting gear can be warm during the cold months, I've worn some when hiking in the mountains before, but camo should not be worn to a football game. Never under any circumstance. What are you trying to keep yourself from being seen so that you can snipe the opposing team's quarterback. Way to perpetuate the stereotype that we are a bunch of stupid rednecks. You are making it harder on those of us that are not rednecks.

Southern College Sports puts NC State as one of top 5 on the rebound programs for 2007. The others include Illinois, Vanderbilt, Miami of Ohio, and Memphis.
http://southerncollegesports.com/fb_07_preview_turnaround.html
Quote : | "NORTH CAROLINA STATE
North Carolina State took a nose dive last season, falling to 3-9 overall and costing Chuck Amato his job in the process. Tom O’Brien arrives from Boston College where he established an excellent program that has been to 8 consecutive bowl games, winning the last 6. The Wolfpack had numerous close losses last year and struggled in the turnover category, registering a -11 ratio for the season. With 14 starters returning and the addition of Coach O’Brien, expectations are high in Raleigh for State to return to their winning ways.
In order to improve upon last season’s 17.5 point per game scoring average, NC State figures to rely on a pounding ground attack as the QB situation gets settled. RB’s Andre Brown and Toney Baker rushed for a combined 1,346 yards and 10 touchdowns last season, and expect production to be even better this year from this top notch duo. O’Brien is known for developing stout offensive lines, and the Pack has an experienced unit that should only improve under the direction of the new staff. Overall, the improved discipline of this entire group should result in major point improvement in 2007.
The Pack always seems to place strong defensive units on the field, and this season should be no different. Last year, State was 34th in the nation in total defense, yielding 317.2 yards per game, and they were especially tough versus the pass, ranking 13th in the country. The leader of this unit is the defensive line with 3 returning starters, led by veterans DeMario Pressley and Martrel Brown.
The non-conference schedule is workable, highlighted by a home date with Louisville on September 29th and a revenge trip to East Carolina on October 20th. The ACC home schedule features 4 winnable contests and will be critical for the Wolfpack’s quest to return to the postseason. This team was snake bitten last season, and with the level of talent returning, this group looks poised to return to prior form." |

We plan atleast one trip every year (2 years ago we were everywhere, last year was Clemson)... This year we would like to go to BC or Miami but both are so damn far away so it's looking like FSU again. I was thinking about making the trip down to Greenville to see us play ECU but I don't think I can put up with 30,000 annoying ass Pirate fans, plus it aint much of a road trip. Doak Campbell is amazing, and so are the women.

ECU fans are probably the worst fans in the state of NC. They truly believe that they should be respected the same as the big 4 (meaning NCSU,UNC, Duke, and WF), but they are comprised of the low lifes of everyones high school who just couldn't get accepted anywhere but EasyU. 7/3/2007 2:54:50 PM |

But they are getting a dental school and their medical school is the best in the country so they are better than us.
If they mattered, I would hate them, but I rather enjoy knowing that they are all useless pieces of shit whether they beat us or not. Someone tell me our record over those ass pirates over the last 4 seasons in baseball. Thats their only legit sport and we're like 11-2 against them or maybe better. Fuck 'em 7/4/2007 12:30:01 AM |

Well the difference is that ECU has never meant shit to NC State, where as NC State was a legitimate threat to UNC before the early 90's. Recent history states that they own us, but before that everything was pretty even, them having a slight edge in basketball, and since NC State has had a scholarship football program, we were 19-20 against them until Mike O'Cain. NC State and UNC are rivals but we just suck at everything so they ignore us. ECU can beat us every year for the next 10 years and I still wont give a shit about them. Sure, I'll be mad that our football team sucks, but thats about it.

yeha starting up a group to Tailgate to NCSU Away games would be fucking sweet! Ive been to all of the ACC stadiums except Boston College....
and yeah Brass Monkey-I hear ya when you say it sucks graduating b/c yours crew ends up getting jobs/families,etc and moving away, but it's nothing like REVVING up another school's fans and talking shit, hehe.
Plus, I do owe a return trip to FSU, ECU..and "possibly" BC(depending on my funds at the time)..btu yeah-if there's a group from TWW that gets started count me in!! GO PACK!! I was in marching band, and we took a massive group(not with the band) to Tallahassee when we just smacked the hell out of FSU, adn there fans were talking crazy shit to us, and our crowd of about 80 plus people were louder then our entire section...we got to Doak about 11am and dranked and tailgated until about 515 before marching as a unit into FSU-I wil remember that moment for the rest of my life....I was hoarse for THREE days afterwards b/c I was yelling/screaming so much!! I was playing NCAA Football 06 just now, and I had the opposing team pinned down tight like on the 2 yard line. The QB scrambled out for like a 6 yard gain, but while he was in the endzone looking for someone to pass to, one of the OL held one of my defensive players and the result was a safety. I said to myself, "holy shit, I didn't know that that was a rule." Had any of you heard that when the QB is in the endzone and an OL holds a defensive player, then the result is a safety? I guess it's true that you learn something new every day.
^do I get free tickets to the game? I'd drive the 2.5 hours from Charlotte to do it each weekend.

any penalty assessed to the offense in their own endzone results in a safety.
example: Intentional Grounding and like you said, holding.
What do you mean free tickets? For other people or for yourself? as far as that position, yes, you have a field pass provided at every game by the cheerleading coach. 7/8/2007 7:48:08 PM |

This happened in our 02 victory against FSU. We recorded two safeties. One was by Manny Lawson blocking the punt out of the endzone and the other was an offensive holding on Shawn Price (I believe). Man, what a game!7/9/2007 10:40:53 PM |
