Without BOTH of their two big men they had the lead the whole game and only lost by what 3 points?

Yeah real bad game. It is all about scoring isn't it?

^^ I don't know if anyone told you this, but you win the game by having more points than the other team.

So, yeah, it is all about scoring.

Are you seriously kidding? You do realize football and basketball are two different sports right?

Statistics in football are dictated by a lot of factors. Your talent, your team, your offensive/defensive philosophy, etc. No one evaluates TALENT based purely on numbers. And when you account for Vick's rushing statistics he becomes one of the games best statistical quarterbacks anyway.

In baseball you account for the majority of your personal statistics. Surrounding talent, team philosophy, home stadium, etc matters but not to the same extent.

Basketball is somewhere in between. Stats matter. Particularly when you are looking at EFFICIENCY statistics that take into account team philosophy (i.e. pace of play).

I'm not telling you Nash isn't the league MVP based solely on stats.

I'm telling you he isn't the MVP based on things your own two fucking eyes should be able to see.

Since you love to ignore his PERFORMANCE and hide behind his STATISTICS. I showed the efficiency rankings to demonstrate that he isn't even one of the top statistical performers in the league either.

Finally, I debunked (or rather I copy/pasted the article that debunked) this "but Nash makes his teammates SOOO much better" bullshit phenomenon argument that the Nash lovers like to use.

To summarize there are three ways you can look at this.

Nash isn't the best player in the league because

A) You can watch the games and easily come to this conclusion.

B) You can look at the stats and easily come to this conclusion.

C) You can read the article and easily come to this conclusion.

Statistical Illiteracy, low basketball IQ, racism, and hero worship are 4 of the common qualities that all "Nash MVP supporters" tend to have in common

It'll be interesting to see if Phoenix makes any moves in the offseason.

I could potentially see them moving Marion because their payroll is already $76.5 million before adding in rookie salaries. There is some demand for Marion and since Diaw would be tough to move with his extension kicking in coming off a poor season I think he'd be the choice to go.

Personally, I'd sit on their roster. I think with another year of maturity they'll be ready to dethrone the Spurs. A quick glance at the Spurs shows they'll be fielding nearly the exact same team next season and that might not be enough to repeat with age concerns. The Spurs have some serious flexibility after next season though as only Duncan, Parker, Ginobili, and Jackie Butler are under contract. Next year is clearly Nash and Phoenix's best shot at a championship.
