They look pathetic at the walk of champions.
Take off your damn headphones, get into the gameday atmosphere, and clap along with the crowd to the fight songs.
Christ almighty. You are the goddamn athletic representatives to my alma mater? I'm ashamed. I am utterly ashamed. Lose if you must - I do not care - but at least show some passion.

Calm down there, tiger. Don't work yourself up over an online forum post.
The Amato mindset was "I'm a star." O'brien was brought in to apply discipline and change that mindset to "we are a team."
Contrary to what is apparently popular belief, you can indeed have both.
And it is the reason we suck. Inconsistent moments of brilliance and stupidity on the field has no other explanation but a lack of focus and vision.

Well we currently have the #22 ranked recruiting class and only have 12 commits. By the time the class fills out we could be top 20. Heck if a couple more of the big boys commit we could have a top 15 class. TOB will do well once he gets his players in here. I see some good things every now and then, but there's just too many mistakes reminiscent of Amato's final years here that offset them. Imagine if Beck doesn't throw the interception or throws the ball away instead of fumbling it those two times we had it inside the 30. We would have had two chances for field goals and that could have helped sparked the team and the crowd, and maybe have even put pressure on Louisville to take more risks in their playcalling. I doubt we would have won the game, but it would have at least been a much closer game.
^Also we snapped Brohm's 7 game streak of having 300 or more passing yards. Brohm was 20-of-33 passes for 250 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception.

We got within 6 of them, and we could have won the game if the team hadn't fallen apart in the 4th quarter (like they usually do).

Notre Dame has the #1 class coming in. And they are one of the worst teams in college football and haven't been relavent in over a decade. Recruiting classes are very overrated. People talked about how TOB was/is a great coach, and how he had more to work with at NCSU than BC, yet he comes here with supposedly better tallent etc...and a new coach goes into BC and has them ranked higher than TOB ever had them ranked. Believe it or not, BC is a better program and its pretty obvious considering their genious of a coach who left them cant even beat a 1-A team and his reaplacement is undefeated and ranked in the top 10.

well, that's not fair yet. only time will tell. i mean, i could go coach the patriots tomorrow and win, and belichick could coach state and lose. it's not like TOB can go back in time and recruit an OL, or bring his OL with him, or QB, etc.
it's frustrating that all TOB has done so far is take a team that lost every game by 5 points and make them lose by 20. but i have faith that it will get better. 9/29/2007 9:48:26 PM |

WTF? Who ever said that? Last year BC won 9 games and we won 3. We lost a bunch of talent (to NFL/injury/Bojangles) and BC kept one of the best QBs in the nation.
TOB came here even though he knew he would have a great team at BC this year. But their fans and facilities suck.
We have the potential to get better recruits. Which is why TOB came here.9/29/2007 10:01:05 PM |

You don't leave a constant ranked team like BC unless there are bigger issues at hand. If facilities and fans were all that mattered, then Oklahoma State would have one of the best coaches and teams in America.

NCSU has some of the worst fans I have ever seen. Do they support the teams? Sure. But they expect WAY too much and get WAY too upset when their average and below average teams perform to just that....average and below.

Well we have had something like close to 10 players have knee surgery this year, and are only playing around 70 out of usually 85 available scholarship players. Our O-line sucks ass and is very inexperienced. A lot of the O-line players on the two deep depth chart to start the season had either never started a collegiate game or had limited experience. Couple that with the decimation of the D-line and you are fixing up a recipe for disaster. We also have played some really good teams up to this point. The crew doing the game today even mentioned that it was one of the tougher starts to a season nationally.
As for recruiting classes, it's pretty hard to cross the Atlantic in a dingy, and it's very rare to win the ACC with shit recruits. I know about Wake Forest last year, but the ACC was down and most of the players that were starting were redshirt junior and seniors that had been coached up very well. Also they had a lot of luck. 9/29/2007 10:18:17 PM |

Have you been anywhere near campus this season? No one is expecting us to do well this year. The most the average student expects is to beat Division 1-AA teams and maybe get one upset in the ACC... and we always want to beat Carolina. But that's it... no one's really getting upset by the losses either... they're just losing interest in our football program9/29/2007 10:19:28 PM |

I'm glad we've had all these tough teams early in the season. Hopefully it will give us a chance to get better and pull out some wins when we play the easier teams later on.
The defense played much better today. It was a 6pt game until the 4th quarter. We still have defensive issues with stopping the run and forcing turnovers, but they showed improvement today and that is encouraging.
We just have to quit punishing our defense by failing to make first downs and turning the ball over so many times when we're on offense. Louisville had possession of the ball for 38 minutes today, nearly twice as long as we had it. Got to give our defense credit for holding back one of the best offenses and quarterbacks in the league for three quarters. Hopefully they can continue the progress at Florida St. next week.

these teams really only make themselves below average teams by turning the ball over, penalties, and just doing stupid idiotic things...
im pretty much saying yeah they arent super talented, but there's enough to be .500 if you JUST DONT TURN THE DAMN BALL OVER >
BECK IS LIKE JAY DAVIS BUT WORSE (AND THAT'S HARD TO DO), PLUS NOW ANDRE BROWN IS TRYING TO BE LIKE TA McCLENDON, WTF IS GOING ON OUT THERE? WE ARE JUST STUPID AND MORE STUPID...
amato really recruited some dumbass players, i dont blame TOB at all, theyre so stupid that theres nothing he can do to help them
if you want my reasoning on why we're stupid, tell me why beck just throws the ball up instead of taking a sack or throwing it away?
why dont our linemen realize when 4-5 of them are going up the middle unblocked that a screen play is coming?
i just dont it, i dont even care about winning or losing, lets just not look like a bunch of pee wee players out there...
you know its bad when in the alumni section you have people yelling for us to seriously just kick a field goal on 1st and goal just because they KNOW we're going to turn it over or do something stupid
and one last thing, people were calling for burke today...lets think about this...if he's third string to beck, he has to be the worst qb ever

As I posted in some ChitChat topic:
Louisville's offensive production this year: Aug 30, 2007 MURRAY: 655 yards, 73 points Sep 06, 2007 MIDDLE TENNESSEE: 729 yards, 58 points Sep 15, 2007 at Kentucky: 467 yards, 34 points Sep 22, 2007 SYRACUSE: 628 yards, 35 points
Against us: 498 yards, 29 points
Our D did pretty well. You can't really fault them for breaking at the end of the game, considering how often our O turned the ball over.
Edit: ^I agree, Burke is crap... what idiots were calling for him to be in?
