what do you guys think of "snaking"?

its not noticeably more effective in the 64 version, but the later versions and on the DS, if you can't snake and someone else can, you can just cancle it


(snaking is when you use your power slide boosts constantly even in straight runs FYI.)

some people get SUPER pissed about it

I'm pissed that I have Mario Kart 64 for the virtual console on the Wii, and when you use the gamecube controller, it makes you cut waaaay too hard and you can't pull off the mini-turbo very easily, or effectively

Emulate MK 64 on PC. My favorite is the 360 controller for MK. Snaking is the only way to win.

I can pull off snaking most of the time. I only do it in single-player and when I'm up against someone else doing it in multi-player. If I snake against friends, they just stop playing with me.
