^^hahahaha, no.....we pretty much always suck. You can't say we play to our competition. Carolina ripped us by 30+, Duke beat us by 20, Clemson beat us by what, 17?? Maryland beat us by double digits.

Every good team in the ACC has ripped us a new asshole, and we've lost to two shitty acc teams now......BC and GT. The only good ACC game we've played is the VT game. And we had to squeeze our butt cheeks tight to make it through that one

If our team plays like this against Clemson, I'll finally have somebody to yell at other than the refs. These guys have no fucking heart. They don't play defense, they don't hustle, they just plain don't give a shit. And Sid doesn't seem to have a clue about anything. He was sitting there w/ the same look on his face as that on mine. "What the fuck is wrong w/ these guys?"

Jay Bilas said it best...these players have the talent, and have the pieces in place to be a good team if they would just play defense for 40 minutes. Defense is mainly hustle and heart. If the players played with any heart we'd have won more than 4 acc games. They get leads and think they are good enough to coast to victory or they fall behind early and give up. They do realize they are playing for one of the most deprived yet loyal fan bases in the country. We continually show up and put ourselves through misery for what?!! A bunch of players who don't have an ounce of respect for their fans, their school, each other, or themselves. If they did, maybe they'd try to play with a little heart and passion. This isnt the same team that i saw last march at the ACC tourney! That team played with something special and played with heart, this isnt the team that played UNC last year, that team believed in each other. No this is something that i can't even explain. Last year after we lost to UNC in the ACC title game I couldnt have been prouder to be an NC State fan after the gutsy, determined effort our boys put forth. Now I couldn't be more ashamed of the fact that we are the laughing stock of the ACC and continually reward our fans with a passionless display that leaves me with a sick feeling inside. I've seen IM games with more intensity then the PACK! this is ridiculous. play with some spirit, play with some pride, play with some resolve. the 83 team is coming out on saturday, i pray to God that they don't have to witness what this program has become: a bunch of gutless pansies that play with about as much heart as my dead grandmother.

^^ I think the fact that it takes us 30 seconds to not score makes the stat line look like we have a good defense. The other team can't score as many if they don't have the ball every 15 seconds like they would if they were playing a fast-break oriented team like Carolina. If you'll look, teams shoot a high percentage against us. I'm pretty sure Carolina, Duke, Maryland, and BC all have had some of their best shooting performances against us. That's not at all indicative of us having a good defense.

To back up ^^ point.. this is from basketball prospectus.

I'm too tired to find it right now, but a points per possession against stat would be the best way to really evaluate our defensive efficiency. I have a feeling you are spot on.

Actually I found something quick.

Our tempo/pace is 279th in the country, offensive efficiency 80th and defensive efficiency 88th.

We allow them to score on what seems like 75% of their possessions, especially in the second half. I have noticed now not only BC but Duke too. It doesnt matter how good your offense is or isnt if you allow the easy shots and offensive rebounds.

Also the guy that wrote the paragraph earlier must not have been to many games this season because RBC has A LOT of empty seats. Alum has given up and just want to go the UNC and Duke games and call a fuck it on the rest
