I have an alpaca rug next to my bed, and when my cat jumps off the bed he will absolutely not land on it. He'll walk across it on the floor, but he'll perform some impressive feats of midair acrobatics to avoid landing on the rug.

if you rack a slide or dry fire any gun in this house, both cats do this weird squeaking/meowing noise. it's really odd and they don't make that noise at any other time. it's hilarious. they'll do it in their sleep too.

Also, when Banky wants to get your attention, he will first let out 2 silent meows. like he opens his mouth and you hear him breathe out, but there is no vocal cords. If those don't work, the third one will be out loud.

hehe this weekend when we were petsitting a big doggy, my little kitten wasn't too sure about it at first.

then she came around and was fine. but when doggy licked her on the head she attempted to hiss. it was the most pathetic almost silent hiss ever. really cute.

also i just got this litter box - it is THE BOMB. seriously. love it. looks funny but keeps the smell in and keeps the litter in!!! the two most important things

He's taken to curling up in the crook of my armpit and kneading on my chest. Except he uses a little bit of claw sometimes and I end up with little red polka dots all over my chest. And sometimes he tries to lick my armpit too.

She only goes outside when I make her (i.e., when it snows, and like ONCE during warm weather). She doesn't like it out there (aversion therapy using snow has worked!)

And yes, she wears her collar. Not like she has much choice, being a cat

khcadwal, we have the exact same litterbox and we love it! works great! I got it free from a friend that no longer had inside cats.

My cat will be a year old in May, so she is still a "kitten" technically.
She has this blue crinkle toy and 2 furry balls that she always brings up on the bed with her. We'll wake up on the morning and she will be sleeping at the end of the bed with her toys up there.

She also never meows. Instead of the classic "meow" she just makes a squeaking noise. Sometimes, she tries to do that noise, and nothing really comes out. I guess she never learned how haha.

i know the igloo is amazing!

and my kitten does the same thing! my fat cat is such a talker...always meowing. my baby kitten just squeaks and often does the silent squeak. i think it is sooooo freaking cute.

several times she's tried to hiss at my dog and nothing has come out!! she puts her ears back and makes the hissing face but it is silent! it makes me laugh.

this is the first cat i've ever owned... when we moved into a house, my wife begged and begged and begged. i used to hate cats. now i love that cat (zoey). Here is a picture of her from last week. Given that she is only ~9 months old, will she eventually learn to meow normally? my buddy has 2 kittens the same age and they already meow.
First picture is when we first got her in July, 2nd picture is last week.

i dunno. my boyfriend's cat is over a year old and she doesn't really meow. she squeaks/chirps but no traditional meowing!

maybe it depends on the cat? i'm not a cat expert. just a sucker for rescuing animals (i am now prohibited from going to the pound!)
