I think it is but you've seen the bullshit spewed in this thread like these assholes have any clue what's right for me, like they have an iota of a clue of who I am as a person and what my life is like. Just tired of the bullshit.
Being with this guy made me see how wrong yan was for me, if that's any inclination. Of course I'm a big believer in time, only time will tell if we can work out things together, we know we love eachother but if you can't get through the basics love won't last long. 7/18/2008 12:49:28 PM |

abortion isn't as easy as it sounds dnl
i can cause damage to your reproductive system and if you ever do get pregnant and decide to keep it, you have to disclose your abortion(s) so they can care for you properly since different risks are involved
not to mention the mental implications
im absolutely pro choice but i would never be able to do it myself, but believe all women should have the right to choose 7/18/2008 12:58:44 PM |

allowing the father a choice in the abortion is a very slippery slope
i dont see how they could legally work out the rights
and dont act like women get off scott free, having a kid is a serious physical mental and emotional undertaking. and not all dads are like duke, some are deadbeat and have $0 and moms have to end up doing it on their own. 7/18/2008 1:04:13 PM |

i find it really annoying when people express their opinions and think anyone who doesnt agree is fucking stupid
lewoods comes to mind. you act extremely high and mighty with your views, as if anyone who thinks different than you must be an idiot. you're aware that you have unpopular, outrageous views. why do you act like that?
and who cares if kiwi wants to keep the baby. judging by her posts on here is she cut out to be the perfect parent? no. but shes better than some crackhoe who abuses her children, doesnt feed them and leaves the house for days on end. at least shes taking responsibility for her actions.
and as far as abortion is concerned, they use the same process when a woman miscarries and they have to extract the baby, except the baby is already dead so they dont have to kill it before vacuuming it out. the reproductive system is extremely fragile and when you go sticking knives and vacuumes and needles and shit up in there, risks are involved. 7/18/2008 1:09:14 PM |

wolfy, While you may be right...I wouldn't go citing a site like the one you just did.
...especially when they own up to citing medical data that's 20+ years old.
It's a given there's a risk anytime you undergo a medical procedure. If dnl wants the numbers that badly, he can look them up himself.

the "legitimate" costs of a baby aren't too bad, especially if you have a degree and some sort of career-level job. i figure my daughter costs about $700-800/month (with most of that being daycare costs).
this is assuming that mom doesn't want to buy $50 baby shoes and so many clothes that some of them never get worn and get given away with the tags still attached--you can obviously spend as much as you want.
if you split those costs between two parents, that's not bad at all...that's $350-400 each per month, assuming you split it evenly (and still only $500-600/month if you make more than the other person and cover more of the costs). the problem is if it goes to court and child support gets awarded. they wildly overestimate the costs, and then the parent with primary custody (read: the mother) will be only nominally financially responsible for anything (she'll be court ordered to contribute X amount of dollars per month, but in reality, there is no way to enforce it and that isn't what happens). The parent who gets screwed out of parenting also gets screwed into paying for everything.
