I love movie trailers, and I love getting pumped for stuff.

But I didn't get the impression that this movie is for us. I mean, I get that trailers sometimes have a hard time capturing a film, but on the other hand, their whole job is to give you a decent idea of what a movie is on about.

And, based on the trailer, I think this movie is 100% for children. If you watch it again as if it's definitely a kid's movie, then it makes perfect sense.

^ people who dislike Leslie Jones probably wouldn't be any more interested in the movie, but the idea of her playing a loud scientist sounds way funnier to me than what they did. they wouldn't have caught flak for relegating the black woman to the blue collar role, and it goes against people's expectations of how a scientist should be. fuck making the characters real. this is a movie about fighting ghosts.

I will admit I chuckled at the scene where the ghost is on Jones's shoulders. Everything else still looks really bad, though.

I am still astounded a film 30+ years earlier still manages better looking ghosts with the computer technology today. Maybe not all the ghost scenes are better, but I would say most 1984 Slimer scenes look much better than the 2016 Slimer scenes (way too cartoony). I also preferred the 1984 library ghost to the corpse-bride-Scooby-Doo monster they are cooking up for 2016. The old-time overlay isn't perfect, but it still feels more ghostly. And the jump scare is MUCH better.

..the 1984 CGI dogs are still pretty terrible, though. Yet, the animatronics still hold up.
