Anyone have the details on something I heard on NPR this morning. I was busy wondering why some idiot 5 cars up was going 50 in the left lane to be able to pay full attention...

I heard that the state legislature threatened to withhold funding from UNC and NCSU in the 90s if they didn't play ECU in sports. Is that true? Seems like the push to play them would have come from the fans if ECU was a true rival of either school. Could you imagine if NCSU didn't play UNC for a decade. The fans would constantly be on someone to make it happen.

Maybe this is all made up. Dunno.

we can trade stories of drunk individuals making bad decisions all night, there were select pirates fans swearing like sailors in the presence of children, and a drunk fool walking the lot tent to tent trying to talk shit/harass NCSU tailgaters AFTER the game

it's a bit childish to vent your frustrations by attacking an entire fanbase based on a few individuals actions, when this kind of thing unfortunately happens on both sides most every game

it's just a product of intense emotions and blurred judgement from drinking

some of us have jobs, are currently moving into a new house, and watching other college football games and dont have time to run and jump on the internet. just an fyi.....

my observations of the game is damn we blew it. we couldnt beat state without their best defender and we made another State qb look like he was god. Wilson played his ass off as well as the rest of the Wolfpack, well deserved win, State wanted it more. Hopefully this win will build their confidence and they roll onto conference play and kick ass. as for ECU, i hope this is a kick in the junk and they play like they want something...and win their conference....

ECU did play bad. i did not say you sucked. i said you wanted the game more and you got it. you guys just have sooooo many injuries, had you guys had your full team, this would have deff been 3-0 vs 3-0 between two top 25 teams. yes i do believe ECU is a good team. i really never thought they were a BCS buster type team, i personally thought more or less a #20-25 team. Plus nobody is going to beat BYU this year and ECU was not about to start putting up 40+ a game.

but i appreciate you trying make something out of nothing.

Do you guys ever pay attention to how rankings work? NO team has ever dropped out after a loss when ranked so high. A loss typically drops you no more than 9 spots. Teams never have to worry about dropping out unless they were in the 20s before losing.
