Good call. But, after he got moody over being shopped for a trade from phoenix, won't he resent going back. Or maybe they want to work a three team deal.

not an official trade, but this would be awesome:
Quote : | "Shaquille O'Neal and LeBron James?
ESPN.com contributor Brian Windhorst of the Cleveland Plain Dealer is reporting that the Cavs have offered Ben Wallace and Sasha Pavlovic to the Phoenix Suns for O'Neal.
And sources close to the process have confirmed to ESPN.com that the teams are indeed in talks involving O'Neal, which would offer the Suns some of the payroll relief they've been seeking. Because only $1.5 million of Pavlovic's contract is guaranteed next season, Phoenix would slice $5.5 million off of its 2009-10 payroll if it agreed to send Shaq to the Cavs.
It's believed, though, that the Suns are resistant to taking back Wallace and thus trying to convince Cleveland to part with Wally Szczerbiak's $13.8 million expiring contract instead, which would turn this into a huge financial windfall for Phoenix." |

That would be a horrible trade for the team currently...only good for them in looking at their salary cap in the future.
Shaq isn't as bad in transition as people make him out to be. And he's currently performing as one of the best centers in the league. Ben Wallace is horrible and Pavlovic would add nothing to the Suns that they don't already have. 2/19/2009 1:39:56 PM |

^Yes and no.
I mean...if they think they can make a run at the title with him...then it was a great pickup. But I don't think he gets them past Boston or Cleveland in the 2nd round like Jameer COULD have.
So now you have him stuck on your roster as a backup PG next year making around $6mil (don't know what his exact salary is). They either should have tried to tough it out this year or go for someone with a little less baggage that would be just as serviceable...say an Earl Watson type PG. 2/20/2009 3:07:44 PM |
