Yuck is gonna be big; I'm convinced.

At the very least, they will get a solid BNM from Pitchfork.

really enjoyed the Yuck album, but i felt a little let down. to me, it didn't really keep the momentum it gains with Get Away. I really wanted that foot tapping feeling to continue, but it seemed to really mellow out in the middle.

that Riddimentary: Diplo Selects Greensleeves thingie is very listenable for background music at work.

low key, simplistically dimensional, and not over the top tweaked with

not something i'd put on to really pay attention to, but for this purpose, solid.

I can agree with this. those Elliott Smith type tracks in the middle do nothing for me.

also I may or may not have leaked that ^ lol. but yeah, if you like reggae (which I do) it's a good mix

Got the Jessica Lea Mayfield today. Maybe it's just the first run-through, but it sounds very generic and only one or two tracks even stood out a little. The production is pretty sterile; not overproduced, but very glossy.

Really, really like the new TV on the Radio single, "Will Do." It's probably more ballad-y than any single they've released in the past, but it definitely still has their signature sound. Dig it.

Snagged a couple dozen so far this year...my favorite by far is Destroyer's Kaputt. It makes me that it hasn't been mentioned more...

Got Hardcore Will Never Die... on vinyl today and was kinda disappointed...too bass-heavy, sounds way better in my car/on my computer.

Also...first post!

I like the Destroyer but certain parts are just a little too cheesy for me. Still good though. I just have to be in the right mood.

Pitchfork gives The King of Limbs a 7.9 --- they gush over it throughout the review, then drop that score on it, lol.

The supposed hints and rumors keep coming that there's going to be a 2nd part. All sorts of cryptic tweets from Stanly Donwood and Chieftan Mews, but it's probably just wishful thinking.

^ that's pretty typical of them to praise the hell out of something for 75% of a review and then give it a number grade that isn't reflective of what you just read.

I'm kind of surprised at all the James Blake, Burial, and general "dubstep" comparisons people are making to this album. I mean sure some general similarities will arise in this style of music but it just seems like the cool thing to do in these reviews right now for the album and I really don't see it except in the most obvious places like Feral and a few specific moments.

I liked HTTT quite a bit... and after numerous listens, I now think it surpasses HTTT and will have more staying power than that record did.

Considering HTTT originally got a 9 (now reduced to an 8 something), I figured TKOL would get in the 8 to 8.5 range.

I don't have a problem with 7.9, though. I tend to find the albums I like the most only get b/c 7.5 and 8.5 on P-fork. Just surprised me they would go below 8 with it after they spent numerous paragraphs sucking its cock.

They also raped the Gruff Rhys record with a 7.7. I figured that one would get higher as well.

In certain places, it kind of reminds me of the quieter moments of Flying Lotus' Cosmogramma. It's no secret that Thom is a big FlyLo fan, though. But, overall, it's pretty uniquely Radiohead. I think people are pulling out the James Blake comparisons just because both records are fairly calm and vaguely electronic.

On a side note, if I'm James Blake, I'm pretty pumped about seeing my name mentioned in the same breath as Radiohead at 21 years old.

well, yeah, i guess i should have said a roundabout story of how David Byrne came up with the song Radio Head that in turn lead to the current band changing its name to Radiohead.

basically Stephen Tobolowsky is the Radio Head

Cold Cave needs to be listened to LOUD (just like every Cure record, oddly enough).
