so my friend who has a house near my parent's place said our propane tank was knocked over and leaking. there are also power lines down (dead for now, but not when power gets restored)...
I thought this was a bad situation... the sheriff's office didn't seem to care...

I think most of Raleigh still has power.
Perhaps per capita power outages by county would have made a more useful image.

sawahash is mia
tried fb, pm, thread, etc.
I am thinking everything is fine she just has a dead cell phone, the whole island is without power.
AB flooded bad, maybe her car got flooded, and she cant charge her phone there, and her phone died.
Maybe she was chasing a news van and her phone got wet and there is no other form of communication since there is no power/internet...and the cell phone store which was probably closed anyway today is across the bridge which happens to be closed to traffic.
Maybe she has ATT which sucks ass and does not even work in fair weather. 8/27/2011 11:07:13 PM |

All of Carteret County is without power, so that's probably why she's not posting.

As I posted in the lounge:
Quote : | "We're still alive here in Greenville.
We had a miserable day yesterday. The power was out for more than 14 hours, but we couldn't open windows because of the wind and rain. We've regained power and DSL services, but we're still without phones. We luckily didn't sustain a lot of damage, just a lot of downed limbs -- one resting on the power line feeding the house. An outbuilding turned over on its side, but it looks like it'll be fine once we turn it back over.
I was able to get into town, but there are areas with trees down over the road and a few areas of flooding. HW102 is one area that's washed out and why I went to Greenville instead of Ayden, which is closer. A lot of people (my mom is one of them) are still without power and consequently without water. There appears to be a lot of damage to power lines and houses due to downed trees and limbs." |

Not much going on here in New Brunswick, NJ except for the main highway into town which has become the greatest impromptu public space I've ever seen.

Pamlico county is in shambles. My parent's neighborhood is torn up pretty bad. still lots of flooded areas. Down power lines all over the place (only have seen 5 power trucks around here and they arrived tonight. I don't see how we'll get power until a week or so
Got lots of pictures (400+) will try to pick out some good ones later this week 8/28/2011 11:28:34 PM |
