That was just changed, but accuweather, nhc, and twc said this is a typical jog and they suspect it to jog back and forth subtly. They don't make straight lines.

Irene is tipsy. She is taunting us.

A bit of a letdown for the Raleigh area. If rain's gonna ruin most of my weekend it'd be nice to see a show of sorts.

^^Maybe you'll get lucky and a roving pack of lumberjacks will come by and saw a tree down such that it lands on your house.

I had to call two tenants that are in an area prone to get high winds of tropical and possibly hurricane strength to spend time taking pictures of the property today just in case I have to make claims next week. Sucks.

If anyone cares...loop should be a little smoother, and imagery resizes correctly when moving between short and long range.

I was told by someone yesterday that no insurance company is binding any new quotes until next week due to the storm. Makes sense to me.

How does that make sense? So they don't have to pay out for people that jump in the system right before expected damages?

Obvious jog back to the west on visible satellite. Warmer waters ahead as well. We'll see what happens.

I don't know what this means but Mike Bettes from TWC said it hasn't turned as quickly as they thought and that RDU should expect cat 1 winds and heavy rain.

I'll go ahead and post ones that are of interest to me (near my house). You will need to reload the page for these to update. The pictures update every 10 minutes during the day (not operation at night )

These will be interesting if the storm stays east and blows/pushes water up the river. Wind tides are what cause major flooding here.

General location of these cams: Around the Oriental Harbor, Oriental, NC (ignore Google's markers... those are meaningless here)
