What makes matters worse is that this person broke up with me and is now seeing someone else and I cannot stop thinking about her, day or night. I close my eyes and the memories come flooding back. How does one stop loving someone once you gave them your heart?

It does. I think I need therapy. It hurts so bad. I don't know what to do anymore. Everyday is just another day and all I think about is her. I cannot concentrate at work or at home. All I want to do is cook and eat. Even then that makes me sad because I used to cook for her as she was busy with work and classes. . .

I miss the girl I'm dating. Same girl I've missed at any point in the last several months.

But yeah it it's that easy to create new memories. You just have to want to. Go out with some friends and dress your best. Try online dating. Pick up a new hobby. Force yourself to do productive things. You'll get over her if you really want to, it just takes time.

^^It's definitely not going to be easy with that defeatist attitude. At some point you have to look at yourself and say, "I'm not going to be a gaping vagina." Especially while some guy is plowing your ex-gf. I've had my low moments where I stepped back and was like, "holy shit...I'm embarrassing myself."

It is quite another to miss someone that you will never ever ever have a relationship with again. maybe you are right, maybe I dont want to move on, I am not ready to move on, whatever the reason this is what I feel and I dont want to get to a point right now where I am okay, where I can look back and smile.

why choose to be miserable? When my current GF and I broke up that was the only time I've ever not tried to get over the ex. And that was because I know her well enough that she still wanted to be with me and it was just an overreaction. If the ex is seeing someone else she doesn't want to be with you so there's no point in notTrying to get over her.

But yeah. I miss her a lot right now.
