then what would you do? have you ever worked in actual health care or some type health care affiliated job? i have been an emt for over 5 years as a volunteer and worked for a market leader in surgical device manufacturing. i have also worked as a sales director for a medical billing company dealing straight with insurance companies.

all of this has allowed me to spend extensive time in hospitals, as well as VA's, various types of dentistry, primary & extended care practices / centers ... you get the picture. by saying this i have a unique first hand experience at seeing health care and the way its offered. furthermore, i have seen the types of FRAUD that is associated with the current system.

so, please tell your experience in the greater health care community, prufrock

I've been licensed to sell life and health insurance and know the business inside and out.

Eliminating fraud and tort reform are two big steps.

because he's proposing a tax plan that shifts the burden substantially to the poor and middle class during the middle of a recession. That's just plain idiotic.

I guess I can see how people like Cains "outsider" status or whatever, but there's no logical reason to support him based on his economic policy. I posted this back on like page 2, then you started to see the media pick up on this too.

We can argue the impact on the middle class, but the poverty exemption in his plan covers the poor.

ha

the fact of the matter is that a vote for Cain is a vote for a tax increase on myself, and most likely yourself and the vast majority of all BUT the wealthiest TWWers.

that makes 0 sense from any perspective.

cool, im glad we can discuss this in some higher level of understanding.

i know this is a little off topic and who cares ... regardless i dont agree with you about the tort reform but something has to be done about the fraud. I am not in 100% support of a govt. ran system but leaving it wide open is killing us. plus the costs are 16% of our fucking GDP.

i feel like we are being held by the balls when it comes to health care reform.

The problem has become so bad that the HHS inspector general said Medicare fraud is more lucrative than the drug trade, with “easy money, less violence and lighter punishments.” Indeed, organized crime has flock
to Medicare fraud as documented by “60 Minutes” and other news programs."

Yeah, him saying things like that make me wonder how much he could really do for our nation. That can't be his retort if he were President.

I don't think that means he hates poor people. When he said for the Occupy movement to blame themselves part of it is for electing Obama and part of it is he is trying to encourage people to work harder and not demand on someone else to provide for you. If you want to interpret that as hating poor people, it's your right to.

I more wanted to comment that allowing insurance companies to sell across state lines would be beneficial to reducing cost also and is another way to reform healthcare without making it a single payer system. I think I'm going to make a thread for you guys to discuss healthcare reform though, I'd really prefer this one stay on topic.

"Cain had a particularly tough time in the debate with questions on foreign policy. But there, too, he played the amateur who sees what the experts can't.

"I have consulted with foreign policy experts. Let me tell you what they have told me: 'Herman, all you need is character and common sense and intelligence, and we have plenty of people who can help fill in the details,'" he said.

If you believe it's that easy, Herman Cain is your candidate. "

lol at Cain's talking about his abortion position.

I think bill Maher nailed it when he says Cain is pulling a trump and just trying to sell himself. He's not serious about being president.

I think he has serious intentions, he's just not a politician so his words are unrehearsed and abrasive. But it seems that it is getting some appeal from a lot of voters. I don't think he's just trying to sell himself. What is he selling? He's no longer the CEO of Godfathers (at least i dont' think he is from what the TV tells me).

I like him because he's not a politician, and has brought a REAL idea to the table. Regardless of whether it's good or bad, I give the man credit for trying to really better America. And since he's switched to the 9-0-9 plan, it seems he's even willing to tweak his idea to better fit the nation and not burden the poor.

By no means do I think he hates poor people. I do think he believes that people who are jobless and do nothing to contribute to society and try to blame others and expect government handouts are worthless. But so do I.

Unfortunately I don't think he'll get the nomination. We need someone with more foreign policy experience, which unfortunately nobody has except Huntsman, and that's the ONLY thing I like about the guy pretty much.

It would be pretty cool if Cain reached out to a foreign policy expert as his running mate. I'd love to see John Bolton (former ambassador to the UN) team up with him. Don't think he's interested in the job though. But it would be a good pairing to make up for what Cain lacks in diplomacy.

he is trying to sell his "brand", books and make sure his attendance is up at all his motivational speaking engagements (i believe that is primary source of income)

what he said about abortion just shows more incompetence to me (in terms of how to be president). i now just found this video where he clarifies
http://www.thedailybeast.com/videos/2011/10/21/herman-cain-understanding-abortion-debate.html

so i guess if elected he will make abortion illegal. he's done

I don't understand what you're saying. Cains statements on abortion don't come off as just unrehearsed or "folksy" or whatever, he is either trying to snowball people or he's an idiot. If he is just figuring out his abortion position at this stage in the game, something is wrong. He clearly hasn't put much thought into it.

You wouldn't hire a car mechanic who came off as an average Joe over the mechanic that could prattle on about engine compression ratios, why would you want a president who came off as simplistic? Seems backwards...

Also, Sam Jackson makes way too much money to take an SNL job. Plus, he's already done a million half-Jules/half-***** parts in things.

You don't need to be a foreign policy expert to know that we're wasting lives and money overseas.

Herman Cain isn't talking about any of the changes that need to be made: reversal of our foreign policy, ending the drug war, and dismantling the banking cartel. He's another smooth talking politician, don't fall for it.
