The freshmen really made the difference. Howell got in early foul trouble, wood didn't hit anything until midway through the 2nd half with the game already out of reach, and Brown had one of the worst offensive games I've seen from him.

If we played like this the next two games, we may be in trouble. Howell has to stop reaching on guards around and before half court. The good thing is that even with 3 of 4 returning starters struggling in the first half, we were still able to build a nice lead thanks to Purvis and Warren stepping up. It's nice to have 4-5 legit scoring threats instead of the 2-3 we had last year.

So funny story which you all probably don't care about, but I'm telling it anyway. Around 5 I was sitting in the doctors' lounge waiting on an attending to arrive so that we could do two bedside I & Ds. Well the TV is on CNN and of course they are covering the mess in Israel. Well there was a guy sitting there reading the paper, and he happened to be wearing a yarmulke. He hears Israel and stands up to start watching. I then notice his ID badge says Chaplain on it. Dude is hanging out in the doctors' lounge, and he isn't even a doctor. Obviously I know that State just started playing and I want to change the channel, but it would seem kind of wrong to change it given the circumstances. After 10 minutes the man leaves to go to the bathroom, and I see my opportunity to change it over to the game. I get 10 seconds of the game and it immediately goes to a commercial. I get on my phone to check my email. The man comes out sees a friend of his and begins talking. I hear them talking about me, and how I changed the channel yet I'm not even watching it and just looking at my phone. He then stormed out rather angrily. Yes I wanted to see even just a few minutes of the game so bad that I turned it when some guy's religious motherland is on the brink of war.

I must say, the defense was pretty good this game. Far ahead of where we were this time last year. The help is pretty much on time, we are deflecting a ton of passes, and we are playing balls out. Defense is going to have to carry us when we have bad offensive nights like these.

I think Zo did a great job defensively in this game. Their PG was gonna get his points, but Zo did force him into turnovers & he only had 2 assists. Perimeter defense is still a huge question mark the rest of the season and it'll be interesting to see who is going to step up and be the main defensive stopper.
