Federal appeals court ruled VA's ban of same-sex marriage is unconstitutional, which is a good thing. Roy Cooper however, has stated that he won't uphold the same ban in NC's constitution, citing the fed's decision in VA, which should get him removed from his position.

I seriously doubt the Mississippi state legislature was not ratifying the 13th amendment due to their personal beliefs that slavery should still be an institution in their state, which is what Mr. Cooper is doing here with gay marriage.

I know I have to clarify, so I'll do it again, I'm not for the ban. I just don't think Roy Cooper is being a good AG.

but you literally just claimed that personal opinions shouldn't matter, that it's their duty to keep fighting. so Roy Cooper should be fighting to keep the requirement that only Christians hold office in NC, and the AG in Mississippi should have been fighting for slavery in their state, regardless of any personal opinions.

Some would argue that he has a responsibility to the State of NC to fight legal battles he thinks he can win, and not waste taxpayer dollars on legal battles he knows he can't win. The ruling yesterday by the Federal Appeals Court for our district invalidates any fight he could have fought for now. We already know what the court will say if we take our case to them, because they just ruled in the same fight versus Virginia.

If anything, this is him being highly responsible.
