Depends, biopharm stocks like these are all speculation. If they had anything legitimately proven you would see it jump above 10 within a day or two. On the flip side, all it takes is one study saying the drug isnt as effective as anticipated and it will drop like a rock in the same time frame. They are all high risk high reward stocks that you can easily get burned on. The good news though is Walter did get many of you into a stock before the pump and gave you a chance to make the money. My suggestion for anyone who still has cheap shares is to sell whatever your original investment was and if you believe its a good company then hold onto all your house money shares long term. This is especially true for anyone who is up more then double. Worst case scenario you have lost nothing at that point. Yes, you limit possible upside but you also have zero downside at that point.

AMGN bought ONYX so it leaves INO in a good position for Merck. INO reports their sales Friday.

waiting on the earnings report still...Had a better day today at least - traded well in the after hours last night, and is already up in after hours right now.

INO is a classic pump n' dump. They really don't have any upcoming catalysts in the short term, which is really the only reason to play biotechs. You will get burned more often than not if you're holding a stock hoping for a buyout/merger.
8/13/2013 8:21:18 AM
those announcements this morning have brought the price up a bit, despite the generally poor market. hoping good things continue.
8/15/2013 11:05:29 AM
INO finally makes a jump, after a week of taking a dump
8/21/2013 1:52:42 PM
yeah it's been a pretty disappointing past 2 weeks ever since that $3 run up based on rumors and anticipation of a partnership announcementwish I had the foresight to dump when everyone else did and rebuy at these levelsno doubt it will be back at $3+ once a partnership comes to fruition though
8/21/2013 5:18:02 PM
^don't you mean if a partnership comes to fruition?
8/22/2013 9:30:15 AM
No, I mean when

this stock is crazy

Can go down 30% just as easily as it goes up 30%. Taking equity position in a firm where 100% of revenue comes from grants is going to be risky and volatile.

So, i've lurked these posts for about 4 - 5 years and one thing that I have never seen discussed but would be interested in is what are your individual alphas? While I do see some people post losses, it isn't everyone and the positive trades appear to outweigh the negative ones. But one thing I've missed (not saying it hasn't been shared just that I haven't seen it) is what each person's alphas are or what their typical annual return is. I only ask because I hear a lot of targeted investing and imagine that if you were routinely beating the s&p you'd be on wall street not on wolf web.

^ This is the internet, everyone is above average at everything in their lives. For real though, Im probably down overall because I suck at this game
9/4/2013 11:36:09 AM
<----- down a lot on AAPL
9/4/2013 11:39:17 AM
so we're not talking about INO anymore?
9/4/2013 12:32:12 PM
To be fair in my trading account I turned 15k into about 2.5k in a few years, then turned 2.5k into 15k in about 3 weeks. Took 11k out and spent the last 4k on Tesla puts when it was around 110 and well you can figure out how that went haha.A good portion of that was due to investing in companies like INO that looked good then tanked. I'm up, mostly because of Ford. I'm not beating the S&P 500 though.
9/4/2013 12:50:30 PM
I usually match the market, although I'm way up on AAPL, IBM, GOOG, and way down on RIMM and GS.
9/4/2013 7:56:41 PM
Sirius XM, Best Buy, and Cintas have been my three big winners. The rest have just been matching the market or slightly underperforming. HP has been my worst....completely tanked at the end of last year and Im almost close to breaking even at this point after more than a year of holding. Wish I had jumped on the Tesla train...I had seriously considered it when it was around $37 but never pulled the trigger.[Edited on September 4, 2013 at 8:42 PM. Reason : a]

One of my biggest regrets was pulling a buy order for CFX in the 6-7 dollar range for 1000 shares. Trades at 50 now
9/5/2013 8:06:41 AM
I usually just match the market too. I occasionally make a play in an individual stock, but 99% of my investing is in various index funds. Not exciting but it has worked for me so far.
9/5/2013 8:11:59 AM
INO is up above $2 again, which is a relief. It's all on speculation because the CEO is starting a scientific conference tour this weekend and through September/October so people are hoping for positive trial outcomes and/or a merger announcement. Hoping for the best...
9/5/2013 1:43:21 PM
Going back to $3 again soon ^Did you keep the stop-loss in at $1.86? What did you buy back in at, if so?[Edited on September 6, 2013 at 11:02 AM. Reason : .]

$3, what happened to $20?

When their drugs start getting FDA approval, it'll be at $20 easily . Be patient, young grasshopper.

It's been bouncing between 2.70-2.85 premarket...looks like it could go to $3 this morning I am hoping that the price will hold strong this time around, especially with all of the conferences coming up over the next few weeks. I don't think there will be a huge sell off as there was last time, but who knows?[Edited on September 9, 2013 at 8:56 AM. Reason : .]
9/9/2013 8:36:14 AM
just sold about 3000 INO shares @ 2.60....Right around 100% agregate return, not too shabby. I'll buy back in if it drops down to the mid 1's again.props to Walter for the protip.
9/9/2013 10:06:43 AM
If it hits $3 again, I'm selling out too. I've got a couple strong positions in INO, but one that I fucked up on and bought at $2.65.
9/9/2013 10:08:42 AM
