^I've seen that in the news a lot, and admittedly haven't done a deep dive, but why would he lie about chasing him?

I wish someone here had some influence with the state and could nudge a prosecution. These guys are caught in a blatant lie that led to someone’s death. At a minimum they need to lose their jobs.

For real. If I was caught in a blatant lie at work about something that broke something, I'd probably get more repercussion than this guy
