What if we had the following players for the 2010-11 season?

PG John Wall: Soph.
G Lorenzo Brown: Soph.
F CJ Leslie: Fr.
F Tracy Smith: Sr.
C DeMarcus Cousins: Soph.

Backed up on the bench by an improved backup-PG Javi Gonzalez (Sr.), a dependable outside threat Scott Wood (So.), a combo guard CJ Williams (Jr.), and an athletic/defensive specialist Johnny Thomas (Jr.)

Reserves: PG Julius Mays (Jr.), F Richard Howell (Soph.), PG Ryan Harrow (Fr.)

Even if we got Wall and Cousins, there's no way they are both here 2 years.

One of them will be one and done, the other probably a 2 year player.

replace John Wall with Ryan Harrow in that lineup and you're talking like a sane person. DC hasn't said for sure if he's one and done. He needs to work on his conditioning from what I've seen.

THAT would be a distinct possibility if we were to land Cousins. Pretty sick.

replace that with both being one year players is more likely... unless the NBA doesn't like how they look for some reason

According to ESPN, if Duke is listed by a kid, then they have to be a leader.

Also Duke is now recruiting two other guards. They'ver pretty much given up on landing Wall. They know that they are too late in the game and they know that Wall knows he wouldn't fit in with K's style and coaching.

That's only if UNC is listed by the kid as well.

I know the lineup is unlikely, I was just thinking hypothetically, "what if Wall and Leslie played together in college?" That led me to realize that Wall would have to stay an extra year for Leslie to get there.

Maybe Wall & Cousins lead NCSU to a national championship..

and then they decide they want to do it again.. and they do it with ease, as Leslie and Wall return to their high school glory days..

AND THEN they decide they want to do it twice more, and all of a sudden we have 6 national championships..

I've been smoking that stuff all day.

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/recruiting/classrankings?classyear=2009&classmonth=11&rank=19&viewmore=yes

ESPN's Top 25 classes

19 NC State

Signees: 3ESPNU 100 signees: 2Top prospect: PG Lorenzo Brown

Sidney Lowe, with a roster chock-full of juniors and seniors, desired a recruiting class that could keep him competitive in the powerful ACC -- and the class of 2008-09 is just what the doctor ordered.

Lowe tapped into the never-ending talent pool of the state of Georgia to nab ESPNU 100 prospects 6-foot-4 Lorenzo Brown (Roswell, Ga./Centennial) and 6-8 Richard Howell (Marietta, Ga./Wheeler).

Brown, although not the quickest point guard, has all the skill and savvy to be a dynamite player for the Wolfpack. He is very good off the dribble and has the overall talent to make an immediate impact -- and possibly start from the moment he steps on campus.

Howell can be a nightmare matchup for opponents. He has the strength and bounce to finish around the basket. However, what makes him so difficult to stop is his quickness, which he utilizes to take opponents off the bounce.

While Brown and Howell get most of the attention, Lowe might have found one of the top sleepers in the country in 6-6 Scott Wood (Marion, Ind.). Wood is recognized as one of the most prolific shooters in the country. With Brown's penetration ability, Wood should be available for some ideal catch-and-shoot situations.

^and there's still a possibility of making a huge jump!

Either way, I'm excited about this class, although we really could use another big man.

How's Duke #6 with only 2 signees?
