Yeah, I would keep Vermiglio at LT and put Crisp at RT. Mattes seems to have found a spot at RG, unless the coaches think he'd make a better RT.
I actually think we could redshirt Crisp, if you think about our line like this:
LT - Vermiglio LG - Wallace C - Wentz/Crawford RG - Allen RT - Mattes
Not sure about our depth, but we have guys like Cristophe, Chandler (assuming he makes it in), Good, and Jones currently redshirting.
I like our young talent a lot and I think we'll have a dominant line in another two years (once O'Brien's OL recruits have redshirted and played a couple years) 9/24/2009 10:26:59 AM |

^ No, I'm not really surprised. People have been projecting Lawson to be one of the top centers in this draft class since late last year. After he got over his initial hiking issues, he was money. Plus he's got good pedigree having been coached by O'Brien and Horton for two years. I wonder if they recruited Tennant as well... 9/24/2009 11:01:51 AM |

Amerson has been really quiet. As far as everyone knows, we are still his top choice. As of yesterday, he did schedule an official visit to Chapel Hill when they play Miami. I wouldn't worry too much about that as he never listed them in his top 4 schools (State, ND, VaTech, and Clemson). Hopefully we will hear soon. 9/27/2009 12:49:56 PM |

^^two points about that article...
1. When did creecy turn french?
2. The same article is written EVERY year. Last year, it was written about us. The year before, it was written about UNC. For the past decade, NC State and UNC have flip flopped years on who has owned NC in recruiting. Two years ago we got Barnes, Mattes, Manning, Maddox, etc. and we owned it. Last year UNC got Boyd and Moss, etc and owned it. So far, we have Hunter, Crisp and Creecy and are dominating. Same shit, different year. We'll get ours, they'll get theirs.......settle it on the field 9/30/2009 4:02:32 PM |

I think this guy is coming from the same high school that Crompton from Tennessee went to. Not to mention Crompton was a 4 star recruit coming out of high school and this guy is only a 3 star. Sure I know stars dont mean anything, but Crompton is so damn horrific, the idea of someone bringing us back down to that level at the quaterback position is just depressing. first off, he hasn't even officially de-committed so it's all speculation at this point, and secondly he is at best third in line to start after Wilson so it's not even something that's remotely worth worrying about at this point. I don't think I even need to point out how idiotic it is to assume that one QB from a high school sucking in college means all QBs from that high school will suck in college, do I?10/2/2009 3:19:53 PM |

I was just trying to point something out, it is possible that the system that the school runs produces quarterbacks with what seems to be a favorable skill set and stats. It does happen in college. I hope the kid, if he comes to State, is an amazing athlete. The reason this jumped out at me btw is because I live in Knoxville now and have to hear the people bitch and moan about Crompton all the time, so the school name look familiar. That is all. 10/2/2009 3:44:26 PM |

It's possible, but unless you have more evidence than just Crompton it's not believable at all. You can't just assume that that is what's going on unless there are numerous examples. Besides, for all you know that HS could have a different coach than when Crompton was in HS.10/2/2009 4:05:17 PM |
