I find the article saying the tea party is the lynchpin in the whole fiscal cliff thing
like anything the tea party would actually vote for has a shot in hell at passing the senate of POTUS

Country is pretty divided right now, obviously. And with the gerry rigged house it will be hard to kick the tea party out. A comfort to me is that you have got guys like Christie and even Newt that are starting to rumble a little bit about the conservative platform that we have all come to know and love. 1/8/2013 9:05:01 AM |

I’ve talked to him once before for The Avengers and that interview went OK," Hamilton said of Jackson. “But it’s one of those things where I have my own set of moral values, just like anybody else, and I’m not going to compromise them for anyone, much less a celebrity."" |

ok to be fair... MSNBC: 'Panic' as plunging meteorite injures nearly 1,000 in Siberia
still does not make it any better. And I guess this is a bad example of what I was trying to show.
I will wait until some benign story about China makes news and then show the difference among network titles.
i.e. something along the lines of "Will China take over the US?" 2/15/2013 12:36:50 PM |

I wish I could find the 60 minutes piece on Ann Coultier, Bill O'Reilly, and Bill Maher, where each of them talk about the rise of partisan pundits that are featured on networks that push their own political agenda to a political market and then brand it as "news" (see Fox News and MSNBC). All three of them said that there is a lot of money in what they do, and that it's not so much about being right as it is about pushing the company's political agenda to market to whatever political side they are on. Even in light of the furthering of partisan politics in congress, to the point of a stalemate, and even in light of the public legitimacy these networks add to people who would otherwise be thought of as political extremists (see the Tea Party, and to an extent the wallstreet protesters).
The more these types of networks are allowed to go on under the facade of "news," the more divided our nation will be. In reality, if Fox News and MSNBC were forced to call themselves what they really are, political tabloids, it would remove so much of their perceived legitimacy from the public... 3/9/2013 7:56:12 PM |

you are never gonna kill propaganda no matter what you call it. Life is unsatisfying and there will always be something or someone that can benefit off of that. Plus, for the time being the internet and social media are the best anecdote for that, as shown in the previous election.

Fox News simply became a laughable caricature of the bias that's always existed in news organizations. I don't think any reasonable person trusts what they hear from any news source today. If anything they should be commended for hastening this realization in a new generation of Americans.
