yes.

this year, made it from wilmington, de to rocky mount (~350 miles) in 4hours and 53 minutes. that was thanksgiving morning, like, 5am-10am.

last year, the sunday after thanksgiving took over 12 hours to make the same drive.

hopefuly it's not the same this year.

me too, and one of the reasons why i always come down on thanksgiving morning.. you take the gamble for if it takes too long, you're the dick that is delaying dinner. but the last three years hae been smooooth sailing.

however, i had a dinner obligation last night that turned into a rawkus drunkfest, so driving back last night was out.

plus after all the commuting around nc and the two drives, the idea of covering about 1200 miles in 3 days wasn't appealing.

oh well.

It generally takes me 8 hours to drive to Orlando from Raleigh. One New Years Day, it took 15 hours. Learned a hard lesson! Never drive on a holiday. And if you have to, just drive in the middle of the night. I-95 is horrendous.
