That's how it is on Shattered Hand...where we're outnumbered 3 to 1. We get a group to go to Stromgrade Keep, get at least 12 honor kills till we die when the alliance gets only 5.9/8/2005 12:57:46 PM |

I would like to start a char on a pvp server, but i really dont want to put the time into building one all over again.

New people should consider joining Skullcrusher. We usually have two to three AV's going on at all times of the day. The alliance and horde is pretty well balanced.
As for PvE, Immortality clears up to Nefarion and has two Thunderfury's already. Alot of other guilds down rag and do well in BWL. 9/8/2005 1:06:30 PM |

This is a feature that's been very frequently requested and one which we want to provide for players as soon as we can. We'll offer character transfers from one realm to another, as well as allow players to move characters from one account to another. While we want to offer this service as a convenience, we also want to prevent its use for exploitive reasons, so there will be a time restriction to limit the frequency that a character can be moved. Btw, with battlegrounds out now, why would you want to be on a PvP server? Just to get ganked all the time while you're trying to get to 60?

Because battlegrounds isnt a constant pvp-fest. You have to wait, sometimes for fucking ever for enough players to get in the queue to begin a game.
on Medivh, You're fucking lucky if an Alterac Valley game ever starts during the week, and WSG at lvl 60 is fucking futile unless you have atleast half your epic pvp gear. 9/8/2005 3:56:55 PM |

I started on a PvE server because a bunch of RL friends, and some people i played FFXI with wanted to, and i also wanted to play the game at first without having to worry about being ganked. Now that that learning period is LONG over, i'd have no problem starting up on a PvP server.
I dont know about WoW, but every other MMO i played that had seperate servers for pvp and pve, the pvp ones were all full of little teenage, short dicked, crybabies that would sit and rez kill you over and over, then whine if you called a friend to help out.

Yeah the ganking in the first few months was almost intolerable especially on a high pop server. I don't mind getting ganked occasionally but holy shit. 9/8/2005 4:04:32 PM |
SandSanta All American 22435 Posts user info edit post |
BG and the honor system took outdoors PVP, and skullbwned it.
There is no outdoors pvp and the only time you really get "ganked" is if you're trolling around TM or in STV. No big raids on Xroads or such for fear of killing a civilian and having everyone in the raid get a DK. Blizzard knows this is a pretty big issue and are investigating accordingly.
Furthermore, I'm inclined to believe you're much worse at pvp initially if you didn't get your cherry popped brutally by a lvl 60 raid party as a n00b.
As for Epic gear in BG. Ask Quinn(/wave Varsh ) or Stein. Gear is by far the least determining factor in BG unless its guild vs guild and neither of the two is terrible. :

MetalRed All American 27124 Posts user info edit post |
Oh i am too, first and foremost. But the addition of hero classes is how Blizzard plans to implement content beyond the lvl 60 cap, and with that, comes more story.
I wonder if they're ever going to open up Northrend, or even Draenor...or maybe the emerald dream? 9/9/2005 10:02:49 AM |

Lokken All American 13361 Posts user info edit post |
what they need to do with the expansion is up the level cap and add places that have higher level content.
The Emerald dream would be waaaay tricky since its just a dream, 'untarnished' version of the existing world.
According to the end of Warcraft II: Beyond the Dark Portal Draenor is no more, but I am sure there are ways around that.
Northrend would probably be your best bet, having Arthas be the boss of a raid dungeon. They could also open up the maelstrom and let you visit the Naga and kill Queen Azshara.
I wouldnt mind seeing more burning legion content. Showdowns with Archimonde, Manarooth(sp?) or even Hakkar would be pretty sweet. 9/9/2005 12:48:03 PM |
Armabond1 All American 7039 Posts user info edit post |
I really hope they don't raise the level cap. That would royally suck and would make MC/BWL too easy. I think the only "level increase" will be the hero classes.
Draenor exists. Play WC3. You get to go there and do some quests and it is where Illidan currently hangs out.
About Northrend... I don't think they'll add the Lich King in for a while, and even if they do, he won't be killable with 40 lvl 60s. He is supposedly the most powerful being in all of Warcraft Lore.
I'd love to see the Maelstorm in the expansion. I think thats one of the coolest parts of WC lore. 9/9/2005 12:53:56 PM |

hmm I guess the novels dont stay consistent with the Warcraft world. I beat Warcraft 3, two weeks before it was released . Whose quests are in Draenor?
I didnt realize the Lich King surpased the Titans or Old Gods in power. I thought he was more along the lines of Archimonde or maybe as high as an aspect.

Armabond is right. You do to Draenor alot in WC3:The Frozen Throne. I dont remember if you do or not in WC3, but its still there. The Draenei are all but extinct, and its mroe or less a haven for demons.

Arthas is more powerful that Archimonde, but not quite Kil'jaeden and the Titans. Still vastly more powerful than anything we've seen in game so far. Blizzard stil maintains that Illidan is the most powerful NPC in the game (just not any released content yet). He puts the current faction bosses to shame.

They're all dead, according to the aftermath of WC3:TFT except Hakkar. Hakkar is supposedly the end boss of the upcoming "Zul'Gurub" instance.

It sounds like thats what they plan to do. Hero classes will be the next tier up past 60.

There are portals to the emerald dream in Ashenvale (near Azshara zone), Darkshire (middle), Hinterlands, and Feraelas (NE of the zone). They are green (raid) portals.

Ragnaros, one of the old gods, should be more powerful than Arthas. It always confused me why they had an Old God as a raid boss. Where did they say that Illidan is the most powerful NPC in the game?

Yeah, I know they both died in WC3. But that doesnt mean they cant come back. The nightelves highborne were killed but twisted by Sargeras into the Satyrs, so I think he could bring back Arch and Mano.9/9/2005 1:55:02 PM |

Ragnaros also wasnt an Old God. He was an elemental. Explaination:
Quote : | "The Pantheon, disturbed by the Old Gods' penchant for evil, waged war upon the elementals and their dark masters. The Old Gods' armies were led by the most powerful elemental lieutenants: Ragnaros the Firelord, Therazane the Stonemother, Al'Akir the Windlord, and Neptulon the Tidehunter. Their chaotic forces raged across the face of the world and clashed with the colossal Titans. Though the elementals were powerful beyond mortal comprehension, their combined forces could not stop the mighty Titans. One by one, the elemental lords fell, and their forces dispersed.
The Pantheon shattered the Old Gods' citadels and chained the four evil gods far beneath the surface of the world. Without the Old Gods' power to keep their raging spirits bound to the physical world, the elementals were banished to an abyssal plane, where they would contend with one another for all eternity. With the elementals' departure, nature calmed, and the world settled into a peaceful harmony. The Titans saw that the threat was contained and set to work. " |

Mannoroth, maybe, but Archimonde was utterly fucking wiped out at the battle of Mount Hyjal. His spirit, essence, whatever...compeletely obliterated. Hes gone for good.
