you have posted the same exact comment, copy and pasted, in a couple of different threads in your hockey bashing effort, so im just doing the same, letting my opinions be known in a more high-traffic thread. I think you have lost all credibility in sports talk now however since your hard-on for the panthers is causing you to bash the hurricanes.

why? Why bash the hurricanes because you think hockey is gay? Create a thread called "hockey is gay" dont come in here and troll. I find it funny though that you think hockey is gay, bighit; if you even stepped on the ice with a MINOR league hockey team, you would be limping off the ice with some kind of injury, and definetley feel in pain for the next few days, in other words, you would get your ass beat; and I like football, but Im not going to take a white supremicist attitude about it, which is what you are doing; Im sorry that your machismo cant take hockey being big in NC right now, but hey, there are

Please don't accuse me of being a Panthers fan.

I also like hockey more than football. BigHitSunday making you all look silly is what I'm enjoying at the moment.

Well, Sir, for one I am not very great at skating on ice so I'd get my ass beat worse than you'd imagine probably, but is that something your average hockey player would take pride in? im sure the canes wish there were about 7 or 8 or 9 mes out there (or however many there were, i swear there were like 5 around the puck everytime), instead of the Edmonton Oilers

i dont knoe where the white supremacist thing came from, which kinda scares me

hockey being BIG in NC right now, thats the problem, the water can only boil for so long before it all evaporates, and just leaves a salty residue in everyones mouth

honestly though, I would say the panthers do not carry any more regular season support than the hurricanes do though. Sure the stadium holds more people, but thats a moot point. As far as a loyal fanbase in the regular season, the hurricanes and the panthers are probably even, and when either one reaches the playoffs people come out of the woodwork. No reason why hockey is going to bitch slap anyone.

I don't know how you can even begin to argue that the Hurricanes have a bigger or even equivalent regular season following as the Panthers.

because I live in Raleigh, where I really dont see all that many panthers fans, until they were about to win the NFC championship....and choked.

That's funny, because I live in Raleigh, where I don't really see that many Hurricanes fans, until we make the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

In 2003 the ducks beat the wings and went on to lose in game 7 to New Jersey
In 2004 the flames beat the wings and went on to lose in game 7 to Tampa Bay
In 2006 the oilers beat the wings and are now in game 7 with Carolina

You work for home ice for a reason.

"I dont want to get all conspiracy theory here, but I just can't shake the feeling that having the finals go to 7 games sure is a good thing for the NHL and for NBC. By having a 7 game series you create drama and interest and by possibly good TV. Esp. if game 7 is "forced" to be a close game/OT game. I know the likelihood of this is remote, but damn man, there HAS to be an explanation for the officiating in this series. And again, it is not that the Canes haven't deserved the penalties called on them, its that the Oilers are committing the SAME penalties and they aren't getting called. Just call the games even. that is all I ask.
"

It only works if the Rangers, Islanders, Kings, Blackhawks, or Flyers are in the SCF. The fact that the second-smallest U.S. market and a Canadian team are playing for the Cup made NBC executives pray for a sweep even bfore the puck was dropped for Game 1.

Who cares about the Charlotte Panthers? They're the Jacksonville Jaguars of the NFC.

Charlotte peeps just pissed that Raleigh is beating them to a pro championship.

Anyway, that championship's not happening if the Canes play like they did Saturday tomorrow. If so, we need to warm up a "FIRE LAVIOLETTE!" thread.

I like those stats, as well as many of the Game 7 stats that have been stated, whether it's in this thread, or just on TV/on-line. However, one that I haven't heard anywhere, besides from my observations, is the fact that the Canes are 0-3 in this series in games that they have had to travel to. Remember, they lost Game 3 when they went to Edmonton. When they came back here for Game 5, they lost. And of course, they lost Game 6 when they went back to Edmonton. Hopefully the other positive stats will be the prevailing ones. I don't want another Mickelson performance. One of them is enough.

i'm not mad about anything. i call the Canes my team, even though i'm originally from Charlotte. i'm glad i'm in Raleigh though if they do win the championship. besides if Raleigh people just have the Stanley Cup Championship to brag about over Charlotte, that's fine. the Charlotte people still have the better city.
