vinylbandit. bayside is on the pussy side of punk, but they are geniuses melodically and anthony raneri's voice and delivery are super smooth. lyrics are a lil repeptiive, but still worth checking them out, despite the fact that some chick you hate likes them

amac884. Yeah I saw that that tour was announced. I cannot wait for it. That is an extremely solid tour package.

As for Bayside, they are a really solid live band, and I dig their music. Nice guys too.

I swear that ticket price is solely to keep the trolls at bay. By the time I went out and got jean shorts and clown makeup, I'd be spending close to 100 bucks on this adventure.

Did anyone else show up to the Active Child/Com Truise show at the 506 last night?

I will say that I was way more impressed with Active Child at that venue than the performance at Dejafest. I still say most of their music doesn't appeal to me and comes off as kind of boring, but I thought they did a damned good job last night, and played some memorable tunes. Com Truise was very entertaining, as well.

I also got a taste of what everybody else was talking about in terms of assholes loudly talking during a show. I don't think it'd ever affected me as much as last night. It's pretty uncalled for when these underage kids get as close to the stage as possible and run their mouths for over 2 songs.

I enjoyed Com Truise. I thought the sound kinda sucked for Active Child. I hate the 506.

biggest pet peeve ever, and shows in chapel hill are particularly bad for this recently.

I went and actually liked Active Child better at Dejafest. Totally agree about the chatty kathys there though. Holy shit there were some loud annoying bitches there.

But I love their booking (mostly) (except American Aquarium/Luego/Tomahawks/Wylie Hunter/all that alt-country shit that shows up from time to time).

I finally saw Wylie Hunter a few weeks back.

It was like an hour-long white man version of "Celebration" by Kool & the Gang.

And the bass player made a duck face the entire time.

to the douchebag who yelled "play freebird" to wye oak last night, go fucking kill yourself.

that pretty much ensured they were not going to be happy about the rest of the set, and even had to reference your idiocy twice later in the show.

Wow. I'm sitting here listening to all these Juggalo Gathering Infomercials. That thing was a who's who in people you haven't heard from in over a decade. I'm kinda jealous.

They came by the bar later and seemed in good spirits. Jenn said they're sick of playing the same songs they've been playing since January, which might have something to do with it.

Neon Injun was just added to Moog, also. With Emancipator and Shahzad Ismaily. It's assumable that Com Truise will also be playing Moog, since he's touring with the Injun, and wouldn't get back to me on Twitter that one time.

Not sure anyone likes fucking Tiesto here, or Skrillex before you start talking about that Corey Feldman-looking kid. Also, $60? Lol. And wow, Twitter used as a means to market and promote things like overpriced concert tickets...who woulda thunk it?!

the cool kids only like electronic music that comes with a drag queen front man and 80s pop nuances

also never listened to skrillex or tiesto

But in all seriousness, there's often a very fine line between the dancey stuff that you people approve of and the electronic stuff that the hippies embrace.

Bands like Toro y Moi and All Tiny Creatures would be well received in the hippie festival circuit if they wanted to go that route, while bands like The New Deal and Sci Fi would have been enjoyed by the Hopscotch goers if they were thrown into the Saturday night Lincoln lineup, IMO.
