ok so i did a google map search of 27518, the zip code he evidently searched and this statement by the FBI "Det. Chappell: Brad searched for "27518" Cary zip - the center of that area, longitude and latitude is Fielding Drive. #coopertrial" is not true. i can't even see fielding drive from my google map search of that area code.

^Ha. I did the same. I had to type in the road name to even find it. Hope no one else goes missing or things could look bad for me.

So, when surfing google maps does it log every camera pan you do, or just the initial search criteria? I know you can generate a link for wherever your current view is, so I assume it is capable of logging that info.

And yeah, if he was a runner I could see him using google maps on his neighborhood to scope out routes. I do it all the time. Zooming in on all undeveloped areas is another story.

i'll say this, if he did type in 27518 and then zoomed in on fielding drive that is pretty bad because, as stated, you can't even see that street when you type it in. but, what was not stated was that he typed in fielding and zoomed in on the street. We'll see what develops with this.

1 - Why the hell do you google map your home 3X a week?
2 - It sounds like the images were zoomed in on fielding drive, specifically on the cul-de-sac where she was found...not just a general zip code search, or a real estate search.

But then who knows how valid this data is given the apparent incompetence of their computer forensics people

Bit of a stretch don't you they think? Let's look at that aspect of their case. They have:

1) Brad never said she had contemplated suicide (as far as I know)
2) Brad had a search on suicide in his google cache

So the theory is that Brad was actively trying to make people think she committed suicide not because he said as much, but because he purposely did one search on suicide on google which he knew would later be discovered. The discovery would then prompt a detective to rule it a suicide rather than implicate Brad as a suspect. That's the plan that they say Brad came up with?

Also why bother with the "out for a run" story if he wanted to steer detective's thoughts toward a possible suicide. Nothing like a nice 5k before I off myself.
