Pretty sure Favre starting ends my hopes off a major comeback.

Just for pride now, who Rice or Harvin?

flip a coin.

I'd probably say Harvin as he typically gets more targets with Favre, but with the weather, and with Rice's ability for long runs, you just don't know. my guess is due to the weather there won't be a lot of long throws.

although on the other side, the Bears have great linebackers, so the middle of the field will be tough for Harvin, possibly opening it up for Rice

grrr ok- with favre back in (and AP out), do you play Rice or Knox

I still don't like either, but I pretty much have the game won, and just need a stat correction buffer to make it official

I've been Favre'd, I hope he gets hit the first play of the game and goes out, with Webb filling in for him and having a Hall of Fame game

I have Webb starting in two leagues with no one on my bench able to replace them, and our league's waivers are locked from 1pm on Sunday until sometime on Tuesday afternoon, so I'm stuck with Webb. Luckily I've basically locked up one matchup and the other is so far out of reach that it wouldnt matter much what Webb did anyways. i've still been Favre'd, and this makes me hate that gay rule about locking up waivers after 1pm on Sunday

I'm rooting for Forte to go off tonight

My Superteam of E. Manning, R. Wayne, R. White, MJD, D. McFadden, J. Tamme, and the Pittsburgh D continues to roll on... I'm in the driver's seat heading into the championship game. Need one more explosive game.

My only question comes down to QB...

do I pick up Rex Grossman (at Jac) or Tebow (Hou) and pray, or do I go with Eli Manning against GB's tough D... or do I play my wildcard, Josh Freeman, against Seattle? Another option is David Garrard (Was)

decisions, decisions... every other position is set, obviously. There's no way I can justify taking any of those starters out.

Jacob Tamme is falling more and more out of favor with me. He had a couple great games early on, but hasnt done much lately. Granted, there arent a whole lot of other options available at this point, but I have noticed a pretty steady decline in his numbers

commissioner question:

This dude has AP and emailed me earlier today to make a roster change to drop AP and pickup Gerhart. He couldn't drop him because AP is on the can't cut list and all his players went on waivers at 1pm on sundary. Would you make this change?

I don't think it should be allowed because all the rules are being followed.

so he's basically asking you to break the rules in order to help him out? He shouldve had a backup plan since it was obvious that AP might not play this week.

Peyton Manning, Desean Jackson, Wes Welker, and Garcon were no match for David Garrard, Mike Williams x 2, and Johnny Knox. I'm coasting into the championship game with a bunch of scrubs.

^^ At this point in the season, I don't even know why the Vikings are bothering with Favre. Seems like it's time to just let him go and work with the new blood, especially when his body is falling apart.

Looks like you'll atleast pick up a few points from Webb.

well, I wound up losing by 4 points after going into the matchup down 28 with Forte and Webb to go. If Webb wouldve started, or if Forte couldve punched one into the endzone, I wouldve pulled it out.

anyways, on to the championships (against ncstatetke), pick my 3 WR (non-ppr league and we get 1pt per 10 rushing/receiving yards and 20 punt/kick return yards):

Desean Jackson vs. Min (duh, starting)
Kenny Britt @ KC
Malcolm Floyd @ Cincy
Anquan Boldin @ Cle (no, not starting)
Percy Harvin @ Phi
Santana Moss @ Jax
Mike Thomas vs. Wash (on waivers)
Ochocinco vs. SD (on waivers)
Mike Williams (Sea) @ TB (on waivers)
Johnny Knox vs. NYJ (on waivers)

btw, drod, how you gonna pick up joe webb when you didn't even make the playoffs in our league? jerk

I'm still playing games, just in the consolation side of the bracket

I am still in playoff mode, even in saps' league (the only league that I didnt make the "winners" bracket). And if you didnt want him why are you bitching? If anything you should be thanking me from keeping him away from one of the teams youre playing against!

So, I didn't watch the Vikings/Bears game. What did everyone think of J. Webb? I saw he had 2 picks, but had decent rushing yardage. Is he going to be worth starting next week at WR?

^^I had thought I want him... until I saw the game last night, I was upset about it. Still might turn out to be better than one of my receivers next week, but no telling who. I just wanna bitch. BITCH BITCH BITCH about people not in the playoffs making sneaky pickups (but yeah, good thing peng doesn't have him now)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Should I keep Peyton in at QB against Oakland this week? I don't like how they can hurry the QB (which is the problem in Indy right now). My only other feasible option would be to pick up Tebow and play him against Houston.

[Edited on December 21, 2010 at 2:05 PM. Reason : haha did I really just ask if I should start Tebow over Manning? my UT fan card should be revoked]

Championship Dreammmmzzzz

QB - Grossman (Jac) or Kerry Collins (KC) pick 1

WR - Mike Wallace (Car) or TB Mike Williams (Sea) or Maclin (Min) pick 1

The QB/WR pick is gonna make or break my week I have a feeling

Would it be wise to start this Webb character as a WR? Or is that just asking for trouble against Philly's D?

yeah, i've definitely taken advantage of this thread and either never posted an opinion or only did once. I didn't see a 'fantasy noobs here' thread though.

It was my first year and I don't feel confident enough in anything I could comment on so I've refrained from the whole WHIR thing. But yeah now somehow (re: VickSean) I'm in the final game and I want my 150 bucks!

League Championship on the Line this weekend, I can start 2:
Roethlisberger vs CAR
Freeman vs Seattle
Tebow vs. Texans

Ben and Freeman got me here, I probably shouldn't rock the boat but I can see Tebow having a big game against the Texans

^^I had to drop Collie and Owens so my next in line would be Westbrook. I put out a claim for Webb, David Nelson, and D. Brown, but only got the first two.

I only picked up Nelson because of some bleacherreport-esque blog article on W16 waiver wires. I grabbed Webb because of what seemed like a huge loophole essentially allowing me to start two quarterbacks in a championship game.

^I know that throughout the season I kept asking my buddy when I should trade Vick because I had Big Ben coming back to finish for me. The entire time he'd just ask me why I needed to change what was working and I put out a couple T1 receiver offers, but nothing stuck. Then Vick got hurt and I was extremely pissed, but still held onto him using Ben in the interim. (I actually offered him and Tolbert to a guy with Matthews for Branch and Moss, lol). Luckily he countered with something even more retarded and I denied. Vick came back just as hot as ever and carried me to the playoffs. So needless to say I'm a huge advocate of 'not rocking the boat'.

Can I just say how much I hate 1 week playoffs...

And how much I hate losing to teams that only win because of junk points - a.k.a. points only scored because teams were playing from behind...

Playing from behind is part of the game, and a big determinant of scoring. I.e. teams playing from behind typically pass more and a team with a big lead may not give you passing stats in the second half. Not any more flukish than short yardage backs "stealing" touchdowns, really.

It's not like bad turnover calls, fluke plays, etc. that realistically disrupt fantasy play from what "should have" happened.

the thing that scares me though is that Cinnci (where that game is) will be b/w 10-20 degrees that day, and Tampa is looking at 60 degree weather. Neither games are looking to be getting any precipitation, and I like SD's defense alot. I just can't trust seattle. Though, they aren't officially out of the playoffs, and I would hate for them to play hard and squeak a bunch of points in. I hate the NFC west...

I would go with the Chargers defense personally. Ochocinco is hurting and TO is out, so they wont be able to throw it around much, so they can tee off on Benson in the backfield

would you start Joe Webb @ Philly or Santana Moss @ Jax at WR this week?
