I could not imagine someone saying the type of things that have been said about UNC over the past ~2 years towards State. I'm not sure what I would do if the situation was reversed, but I do know I would not bury my head in the sand and act like it was all lies.


Also I just realized that UNC is the 2nd oldest public college in the US (next to UGA)... You would think if anyone should understand what a public college is, UNC should. I think the whole Duke rivalry has made them go through an identity crisis.

Apparently a few PP guys are still hanging onto things that they know happened and have proof of but the NCAA hasn't mentioned yet and are waiting to see if they announce it in the NOA.

I get the feeling it will be released Friday...of course, like all their other crap they spew out.

and I doubt it's the entire thing...UNC will fight it till the bitter end. Media will have to file lawsuits most likely.

I have just assumed the coaches hadn't seen it for purposes of plausible deniability and keeping exposure low. The conspiracy theorist in me is saying that UNC is still trying to negotiate things down and get a lighter "official" NoA even though they already have one. Go ahead, take down the stupid things, it changes absolutely nothing in the present reality. That mentality is such the wrong tack for people to take because I find the notion of whether Chapel Hill won or lost a game 10 years ago to be besides the point for this scandal. As long as I can find video of a team winning a title on Youtube, they still won the title even if "a banner is taken down". That's why the notion of the NCAA taking away wins years after they were done is a painless punishment.

I understand what you're saying, but if you want to go with that logic, nothing sports-related really matters.

Why should I care what the scoreboard says at the end of the game, its just a bunch of pixels on a screen. It doesn't effect my life or have anything to do with me. Someone recruited a bunch of intercity kids to bounce an inflatable ball on hardwood to generate revenue... why should I give a shit?

Yet we over-invest hype, hope, and emotion into this garbage to distract us from our boring-ass lives.

Sports-related stuff matters if you're a participant. It honestly does not if you're a fan because for you the sport is entertainment.

Why this matters if you are or are not a fan is because it's a public university and public corruption. Doesn't absolve anyone of anything though, Chapel Hill previously agreed to the NCAA's rules and regulations along with fellow member universities and have to abide by them and their decisions if the NCAA stand up and have a spine.
