Beat MOH: Airborne last night and enjoyed it. Theres great use of vertical space in it as far as being able to climb to the top of a building for a better shot. The airborne deathmatch is one of the cooler multiplayer things I've ever seen. Basically one team always respawns in a parachute above the map and decides where to land.

I'm still kinda partial to the single player mode on COD3.

I generally hate turn based RPGs, but I played the demo of Eternal Sonata, and not only was it not excruciating, but even somewhat entertaining.

If I had my on 360 and didn't have to whore off my friends' I would consider getting one.

WRT Strangelhold, who is the target audience for this game? The only group I could imagine that would like it is 5th graders.

I don't see the appeal of such strictly scripted and choreographed "fighting" games like this. Pretty lame, IMO.

couple cool racing game demos have come out in the marketplace over the last couple weeks...cant recall the names but they're pretty cool...one is a wreck type game sort of similar to burnout...most of the environment is interactive...the other is a street racing game and it has some pretty sweet customization options even in the demo...worth checking out

Picked up Dead Rising last week for $30 and have really been enjoying it. Very frustrating at the beginning of the game when you have so little health and low stock, but I like the save game + and restart feature.

Frank West? More like Frank Castle if he can lug around that M-2 from the back of the Humvee in the park. Damn, but it's satisfying to shoot someone with it.

yeah Axelay that game is great...I havent played it lately but I played the hell out of it early on...the key is to go through a few times and die to get your stats up so you can progress later...rescuing the man and woman on the roof and taking a picture of them embracing is a good way to do that

and once you get double chainsaws, with the right combination of books?

Dead Rising is one of my favorite games of all times... its really fun, and once you complete it its super challenging to try and unlock everything (like the full megaman suit). Definitely not a rental unless you want it out for a few weeks

^^ see i still think the key is to not do that, but make sure you save enough. more of a survival game if you arent very powerful. save that fun for the 2nd or 3rd playthrough. dont trust the man with 50k in gamerpoints.

lol i actually own dead rising...not just one of my achievement rentals...it was just too hard for me even with saving...i got kind of far but just didnt have enough health and time...i think you've got to go through a bunch early on anyway just to figure out the best strategies to maximize time

So much of Dead Rising reminds me of Resident Evil 2. I'm trying to go straight from level 1 to accomplishing the best ending and earn the Saint achievement all at the same time. You really have to move QUICKLY from section to section and not screw up, like how you did in RE2 to earn the gatling gun (finish entire game in <2 hrs with NO saves and NO health sprays).

Kind of a neat tip of the hat to RE2 - anybody remember early in the game when you could take the gun store owner's shotgun if you were fast enough about it? I noticed that one of the civilians in the entrance to the mall had a shotgun, and so I set out to try to get to it before being overrun. Bear in mind that I was level 1. I finally found it on about the 10th try, and that shotgun has made all the difference in the world up to this point. Taking out the convicts in the Humvee was substantially easier, and I actually took out the psycho clown on my very first try.

Also, I finished paying off my copy of Halo 3 and NBA 2K8, so I'm straight until November. Might get Beautiful Katamari if I have some extra $$$ on the side.
