the differences between 1st and 3rd in the context of one friend losing in third to the other friend so that friend could win 1st. as opposed to both friends getting 2nd and 3rd.

like i said, its not a big deal really. wasnt particularly looking for people to bring forth an argument as to why it wasnt collusion. just how you would adjust if it were.

and I bubbled.. hard

I'm BB with 66, been looking for a chance to push against the guy on the button who raises 3x the blind every time it's folded to him. So he makes his standard 9k raise with the blinds 1.5/3 and I take my shot. I have about 55k at this point and he has 70k, instant call with 77.

That was one of the hands I was hoping to fold with that play, but instead I go out in 90th with the top 80 paying.. oh well

^^^ some douches will call anything preflop if theyre holding any face card. and more frequently people but lots of stock in top pair so they'll call anything after they hit it. if they pair their kicker down the street, thats just shitty luck for you. but some people wont fold it no matter what. at least from what ive seen...

$20 mtt, 99 entered.

top 12 paid, I got 11th. I was very short relative to the rest of the table(6 per), i had around 6k, stacks ranged from 1 at 5k to 3 over 15k.

I took a stab in late position with J10 and the bb had KK.

I was playing for 1st, and I am happy about my finish. 1st cash in a mtt ever. Even if I did only make $7... LOL.

Best poker story I have still ever heard was from Moneymaker. The night he won the WSOP he went to a strip club, rang up a $25,000 tab, and pretty much had to be carried onto his plane the next morning to fly back to Tennessee. Now THAT is a poker story.

yeah my first experience last night was great.

flopping sets all over the place makes the stack grow so nice.

unless you flop a set of aces against a flopped broadway,, but somehow i got away from it on the turn.

but max buying and >tripling up in like 3 hours makes me want to go again thats for sure.

I was playing the 300nl tables at Hawaiian Gardens on Sunday night. When I came into the table a scar-faced azn kid next to me had 1200 in chips and some jew with lots of tattoos across the table had about $1500.

azn kid has [K, Q]
jew has [A, 10]
other dude has [6, 6]

Flop comes down A, J, 10 rainbow. Moderate betting btw the 3. Maybe 200 bucks in the pot.

Turn is a 6. Other dude goes all in for 300 more. Azn kid calls and jew calls.

River is an A. Jew goes all in. Azn thinks about it for 5 minutes, probably knowing he's beat, but he can't get away from the nut straight and $1100 in the pot. He goes all in and loses his $1200 just like that. Jew has $3000 in chips in front of him.

azn kid buys back into the game, and an hour later he's back up to $1200. An hour after that he's at $1600, and I have no idea how he is able to read people the way he does. In the 3 hours I was at the table, I was up and down, and finally finished up about $100.

I was just in awe of this guy's poker abilities. He wasn't even bluffing/throwing his weight around either. He was making the correct calls and the correct folds, catching good hands and taking them down at the right times. Somehow he was able to read everybody at the table like a book.

back to back to back... dude at my table has had monsters on the flop the past 3 hands.

Hit K high straight flush on the flop... player moved all in on him
Hit nut flush in spades on the flop... slow played and got an all in
Hit quad 3's on the flop and got paid off, but not huge.

I mean seriously, how do you call a 2.5x raise on a 3-flush flop with bottom pair/no kicker/no spade? Then after making his miracle boat he bets out twice the pot when I just checked the turn scared of the 4-flush.

And here's another vintage eurotard hand that happened 2 minutes later, though not for as much money
